Some messages hit different.
Sharing one such testimony I received today

When someone says “I cracked 5 system design interviews after just Part-1 and Part-2” it reminds me why I started building this guide in the first place.

Not to teach everything.
But to give clarity + confidence.

Grateful. Motivated. And back to work.

No matter how good you are in your current role, always try to do this once in your career:

Start a project from scratch and do the basics right. You only understand real-world problems when you build something end to end.

Here are a few things you should definitely try: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rajatgajbhiye_no-matter-how-good-you-are-in-your-current-activity-7403811047641440256-6wmV

No matter if you have 1, 2, or 5 years of experience.

Truth is:

If you are giving an interview at any good product-based company or MNCs, 3-5 rounds are just:
- DSA, Development (2 to 3 rounds), and
- System Design (1 to 2 rounds)

Start a project from scratch and do the basics right. You only understand real-world problems when you build something end to end.

Here are a few things you should definitely try:

- Implement authentication (JWT, OAuth, sessions, etc.)
- Set up a database from zero (create schema, auth tables, migrations)
- Host your code on GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket with branch protection rules
- Configure environments (dev, staging, prod) and secrets properly
- Write unit, integration & end-to-end tests
- Set up a CI/CD pipeline for automated testing & deployments
- Design APIs with proper documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Apply security best practices (validation, HTTPS, rate limiting, CORS)
- Containerize your app with Docker
- Deploy once on a cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, Render, etc.)
- Add proper logging & error monitoring (Sentry, ELK, etc.)
- Use caching (Redis, Memcached) for performance
- Maintain code quality with linters, formatters, and static analysis
- Write a clear README and contribution guide
