For now I have no idea how to recreate that digitally 😄

Sofia draws pinned «Hello 🤠 I’m an artist and I have a lot of degrees in architecture (two Master’s 🫣), and studied in Ukraine and Belgium. But the visuals have always been my greatest point of interest so I want to dedicate more time to drawing and learn digital art in particular.…»
Speaking about digital effects: this is an exercise I did today to learn how to paint in Photoshop. In the left boxes there are examples, and in the right are my attempts to recreate them

Today I did some more studies…
I really wish to start making finished artworks but I want to have a solid understanding of my tools before doing it because otherwise it takes unreasonable amount of time

On-screen blending

An exercise in brush technique. The task is to create a smooth transition between planar surfaces that are catching the light differently using brush strokes. This actually reminds me of traditional painting

Throwback to my time at school a few years ago. Even though I was studying architecture we got art assignments at academic drawing classes which I really enjoyed 🤗

What do we have today? More studies! This was a brush control assignment to train precision while painting

And also something less boring, a Comodo dragon study 🦎

Studies are done to understand specific shapes and features of the subject

I can’t sleep so here are some of my architectural sketches.

I’m working on a design of “Necropolis”. The term can be translated as “city of the dead” and my idea is to create a landscape that conveys the feeling of heaviness. These are still initial ideas but I’m solid on decision to make it a structure that digs into the landscape, submerging into earth, so the visitors will experience this descent too walking down the pathways of the structure

A continuation of previous post: from this sequence you can see how exploration sketches transform into a more detailed artwork.

Any subject of drawing has to be researched beforehand even when it is something purely conceptual like in this case. I was really influenced by Egyptian Necropolis remnants and trenches from WWI. (Can be seen in post above)

While I’m a little busy with other stuff, take a look at this sketch of my teachers from university in Kyiv. It’s one of my favorites ever because I think I captured their personalities really nice 😄

I have always preferred drawing people and characters, picture events, rather than just capturing existing environments or whatever else I got assigned at school…

This is an illustration of a moment from the story that my friend wrote I drew today ✍🏻
