While I’m busy doing boring work related stuff take a look at this beautiful portrait
Hello 👋🏻
Not so long ago I did a digital drawing test task for a game development company and I’m gonna share my process while I am waiting for a feedback, I still don’t know if I passed. I think I will get an answer somewhere around the end of this week or next Monday.
In some of the tasks it was necessary to use AI, and I had to learn how to use it cause I didn’t have any experience 🫠 I wish this wasn’t the case, but it seems like it’s becoming a norm in the industry

Let’s start 🫣
One of the tasks was to create a game character in a style that matches the studio’s style and other description (wear specific clothes and have a certain appearance).
The task demanded that I create initial concept using AI and after approval make manual improvements and fixes. I used local version of Stable Diffusion (the result is on the first picture), and then finished the character in Photoshop (second picture). This task took me the most time!

Hello! A follow up to the previous post 🫳🏻
Here is a lineup of studio’s characters (ladies in a skirt and a suit) and my character. I think I did a good job matching the style and design.
I had to observe and define specific characteristics of the design to make mine look similar: proportions of the body, pose, amount of details in clothing, style of rendering, saturation of colors, ambient occlusion intensity and general lighting 🤓

This was the most interesting task out of three!
I had to make two hand-drawn sketches of ork characters and then render the selected area by hand with NO AI. The team selected a portrait of the male character to finalize.
If you will put 10 reactions to this post I will show you a finished portrait today 🥺

Heyyy we’ve made it to 10 reactions so here is the finished portrait 🥳
I’ve never drawn orks before, but basically they’re like humans with a very exaggerated lower part of the face and bone structure. Oh and of course the fangs 🦷
I’m proud of this one, this is my first polished digital portrait.

Hello 👋🏻 Not so long ago I did a digital drawing test task for a game development company and I’m gonna share my process while I am waiting for a feedback, I still don’t know if I passed. I think I will get an answer somewhere around the end of this week…
So… Today I have received an update about my test task. They said that they “have finished recruiting a few artists to fill the needs of the team and are currently focused on integrating them” so I will get the feedback on my work even later.
I don’t know how to feel about this, I’m certainly disappointed. I have spent two full weeks to complete the test task and now they are saying that they have stopped hiring new people. Without even rating my work and saying if it was good or bad or providing any comments whatsoever. And not stopping the process of test task after the sketch phase so I would not need to spend another week to finish it.
Needless to say, I was trying for an entry level job, not requiring any experience, and they gave me this massive task right away.
In the message they added that “we will stay in touch and in case there is a new position opening we will contact you”. But come on, everyone knows that will not happen.
I have spent a month in total trying to get to the interview phase but looks like it’s not happening.
I will be trying again to get a job as an artist even though I have to admit it is incredibly hard.

I had been drawing the most until 4th year of university, that's when I stopped for a while and I don't quite remember why.
As some of you may know, I was studying architecture and I was really dedicated, even though deep inside I understood that I always wanted to draw and be an artist, not an architect. But I was afraid to ever take it serious, until now.
These sketches were made during the lectures, the only time I had for myself and drawing what I wanted to.
