I drew this sketch with one of my favorite tools - ink brush pen by Pentel. I have seen some of the coolest artists on Instagram use it and decided that I wanted one too. Iโve been using my pen for 5 years already cause itโs made to be refilled, very convenient!

Not so long ago I did a digital drawing test task for a game development company and Iโm gonna share my process while I am waiting for a feedback, I still donโt know if I passed. I think I will get an answer somewhere around the end of this week or next Monday.
In some of the tasks it was necessary to use AI, and I had to learn how to use it cause I didnโt have any experience ๐ซ I wish this wasnโt the case, but it seems like itโs becoming a norm in the industry

One of the tasks was to create a game character in a style that matches the studioโs style and other description (wear specific clothes and have a certain appearance).
The task demanded that I create initial concept using AI and after approval make manual improvements and fixes. I used local version of Stable Diffusion (the result is on the first picture), and then finished the character in Photoshop (second picture). This task took me the most time!

Here is a lineup of studioโs characters (ladies in a skirt and a suit) and my character. I think I did a good job matching the style and design.
I had to observe and define specific characteristics of the design to make mine look similar: proportions of the body, pose, amount of details in clothing, style of rendering, saturation of colors, ambient occlusion intensity and general lighting ๐ค

I had to make two hand-drawn sketches of ork characters and then render the selected area by hand with NO AI. The team selected a portrait of the male character to finalize.

Iโve never drawn orks before, but basically theyโre like humans with a very exaggerated lower part of the face and bone structure. Oh and of course the fangs ๐ฆท
