Hello 🀠 I’m an artist and I have a lot of degrees in architecture (two Master’s 🫣), and studied in Ukraine and Belgium. But the visuals have always been my greatest point of interest so I want to dedicate more time to drawing and learn digital art in particular. I’m gonna post art- and drawing-related things here, including sketches from architecture school and studies as well as old works because boy oh boy I have a lot of those…
This channel is created to demonstrate my studying process, feel free to ask questions πŸ‘€

Forgot to mention my name but it’s kinda obvious from the channel name. I’m Sofia πŸ‘‹πŸ»
Welcoming post and a bit of background

These paintings are of Flemish Ardennes, an area in Belgium. Technique: gouache on paper. I currently study architecture in Belgium and those are a part of the assignment for school.
I have a solid background in traditional art and more than 15 or so years of drawing and painting, but now I am trying to learn digital art. However the base principles remain the same, like form, perspective, line, colour, composition, the technique is completely different in comparison to traditional methods like those used to make the paintings you see. So now I’m focused on becoming excellent in Photoshop πŸ™ƒ

For now I have no idea how to recreate that digitally πŸ˜„

Speaking about digital effects: this is an exercise I did today to learn how to paint in Photoshop. In the left boxes there are examples, and in the right are my attempts to recreate them

Today I did some more studies…
I really wish to start making finished artworks but I want to have a solid understanding of my tools before doing it because otherwise it takes unreasonable amount of time

On-screen blending

An exercise in brush technique. The task is to create a smooth transition between planar surfaces that are catching the light differently using brush strokes. This actually reminds me of traditional painting

Throwback to my time at school a few years ago. Even though I was studying architecture we got art assignments at academic drawing classes which I really enjoyed πŸ€—
