A Talk by Kostas Kryptos Chalkias at Seoul National University
Hosted by Decipher

Decipher and SNU's GECE recently co-hosted a special lecture featuring Kostas Kryptos Chalkias, Co-founder & Chief Cryptographer of Mysten Labs.

Special highlights included an in-depth discussion on why Sui will be quantum-resilient by incorporating Zero-Knowledge Proofs(ZK), an introduction to on-chain robotic systems, and exploring the relationship between blockchain and AI.

In the second half, Decipher's Wonjae Choi, a member of the Virtual Machine & Optimization Lab at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Seoul National University, introduced his research about blockchain security, privacy, cryptography and compilers.

- Encrypted Mempool Design: Traditional blockchain mempools are always vulnerable to either privacy issues or DoS attacks. To solve this, he designed an encrypted mempool that uses cryptographic techniques, including ZK, to ensure privacy while being resistant to DoS attacks.

- Unified Prover Framework for ZK: While ZK require various proving backends and hardware environments, there is currently no unified framework, leading to a reliance on manual optimization for each. His research aims to address this by integrating compiler framework methodologies to design and develop a Prover Intermediate Representation and a Unified Prover Runtime.
