Opinion Poll
We conducted a poll yesterday about what scares you more?

UPSC Prelims or Mains.

Some students responded with Prelims.

Some with Mains and many with both.

Keeping this in mind Ayush Raina Sir conducted an Open YT session.

In this session, you'll learn how to make your preparation Mains-centric while automatically covering Prelims, understand the overlap between the two exams, and build a preparation framework that saves time and improves retention.

โ€‹Overuse of Broad-Spectrum Antibiotics: India overuses broad-spectrum "Watch" antibiotics while underusing first-line "Access" options.

โ€‹Defensive Prescribing: Doctors prescribe broad-spectrum drugs empirically due to late patient arrivals, slow diagnostics, and hospital-acquired infections.

โ€‹Systemic Drivers: Over-prescribing acts as a compensatory mechanism for diagnostic and hygiene gaps rather than mere physician irrationality.

โ€‹๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‘๐ข๐ฌ๐ค๐ฌ

โ€‹Accelerating AMR:
Heavy reliance on critical "Watch" drugs hastens antimicrobial resistance and renders vital treatments ineffective.

โ€‹Compromised Patient Safety:
Empirical prescribing without lab confirmation increases treatment costs and toxicity.

โ€‹Strengthen Infection Prevention:
Invest in clean water, sanitation, hygiene, and infection control personnel.
โ€‹Expand Diagnostics: Scale up free diagnostics and lab networks for fast, evidence-based prescribing.

Day 13 CSAT PYQ Series Today, we will be looking at a LR question. We alternate between RC, LR and Quant PYQs in this series. Try to solve it. Solutions will be provided later today.
Solution of Day 13 CSAT PYQ

โ€‹Table dimensions: 6' x 10'
โ€‹Blue rectangle dimensions: 2.5' x 8' (Quantity: 2)

โ€‹Step 1:
Placement Constraint
The problem states each blue portion has "exactly two sides common with two edges of the table top."

This geometrically requires each blue rectangle to be placed exactly into one of the 4 corners of the table.

โ€‹Step 2:
Orientation Constraint
Since the table's width is 6' and the blue rectangle's length is 8', the 8' side of the blue rectangle cannot be placed along the 6' edge.

It must be aligned along the 10' edge.

Therefore, the orientation of the blue rectangles within any chosen corner is strictly fixed.

โ€‹Step 3:
Calculating Patterns
Because the table is fixed to the ground, we cannot rotate it to make patterns look identical. Every unique selection of corners creates a distinct visual pattern from above.

โ€‹To find the total patterns, calculate the number of ways to choose 2 corners out of the 4 available corners:

โ€‹4C2 = (4 ร— 3) / (2 ร— 1) = 6

โ€‹There are 6 possible patterns.

โ€‹Correct Answer:

(c) 6
