im glad that people gave up on saying "x formerly twitter" and just say twitter now.
the worst case scenario would be people actually calling it "x"

the pentagon requested of congress 1 billion dollars per day for the 3 day special military operation in iran (which has gone on for 19 and a half days now)
dividing that by the 150 million US tax payers, it is just shy of 7 dollars per day or 130 dollar so far. Its probably more than that if the 150k number also includes net negative welfare recipients.
Are you okay with the government taking a 10 dollar bill out of your wallet every single day so that they can kill people (including 180 civilians of which over 100 were school girls) in a country that is not actually capable of striking the US or even mounting a significant offense against the US?
personally i think trump should have kept his promise not to start more forever wars.

>client site internet goes down
>have to call the isp to get it fixed
>its ATT (FUCK)
>call
>the robot wants to do troubleshooting
>"go look at our outage map and check if there is an outage in your area! I'll give you some time to look!"
>makes me wait a full 2 minutes before allowing me to continue.
>literally just dead air for 120 seconds
>it does this 2 more times with other "troubleshooting steps"
>unskippable cutscene, basically
>tries to trick me into "connecting you phone to cellular internet to see if you have internet access" as if my cell working means that the internet must work at my client's site. (i bet this actually works sometimes)
>does everything possible to block me from accessing support
>10 minutes and ive not spoken to a human yet

update: i was on the phone with them for 80 minutes. they REALLY wanted me to verify that i was authorized to get support. i was finally able to figure out who was authorized, have them send the guy a text, get the pin code from him and give it to ATT support
about 20 minutes of trouble shooting later (wherein all they did was reboot the modem) suddenly the support rep switched back to "i need you to verify again. youre not verified. i cant support you until i know youre authorized"

im not personally all too worried about this
1. the exploit is not released and as far as i know its not in the wild. some security researcher found it and reported it.
2. security researchers have a bad habit of overstating severity for clout. "i found a 9.8 RCE exploit in a broadly used application" sounds a lot cooler than "6.5 bounded arbitrary file access if you know the exact file path"
3. it will almost certainly be patched before the july release deadline
i did turn off automatic media download on 2 windows devices for my own peace of mind but im sure my graphene devices are fine.

the DoW has determined that i am qualified to stare at a diagram of your corporate network in abject horror and then tell you that you will never be prepared to accept classified government contracts.
what im trying to say is that i've been certified to assess companies to see if they meet governmental standards to build bombs for the army

so im watching this video from a court case appeal in which a deaf woman was questioned about the death of her husband, but because she is deaf she didnt hear the questions and didnt respond to them, as is her first and fifth amendment right against self incrimination, but because she didnt explicitly reference her fifth amendment right, her silence was used in court to paint her as guilty. also of note: the police did not read her miranda rights to her.
interestingly during the discussion between one of the lawyers and the appeals court judges it was pointed out that you cannot expect a person to know even the most basic right to not answer police questions. I think this is a tacit, even if unintentional, admission that the "justice" system is so incredibly convoluted that people do not understand even the most simple and foundational aspects of american justice.

i've never been officially diagnosed with TMJ but I probably have it. wearing headphones for more than a few hours tends to make one of my ears hurt.
I've found a fix for this several months ago that has helped me a lot so I thought i'd share it.
when wearing overear headphones, adjusting them so that they do not sit tightly just below the bottom of the ear lobe and creating a gap so that air can pass freely into the ear cup mitigates the pain by at worst 90%. most days i feel no discomfort.
I create the air gap by disassembling a pen so that its basically a straw and then tucking it into the top of my ear lobe like you would with a pencil or glasses.
