⚠️ “I want my own private LLM” — Matthew McConaughey sparks an AI debate

In a recent interview, Matthew McConaughey shared a vision that instantly went viral:
“I need a private LLM with just my favorite books, notes, and articles. I’d ask it questions, it would answer only from that, and over time it would learn more about me.”

The clip blew up on X, racking up millions of views and dividing the AI crowd:

NotebookLM believers: “This already exists.”
Dreamers: “Finally, someone voiced the idea I’ve wanted for years.”
Skeptics: “Impossible. McConaughey doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

The truth? Closer to the skeptics. An “LLM” can’t run on a handful of books and notes. The “L” stands for large, meaning billions of words. Your personal library won’t cut it.

Unless Google secretly built exactly what he described, the only real private LLM right now is… your own brain.

Even for the king of beasts, being royal isn’t enough — you still need a large language model.
