⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Russian Defence Ministry Report on the Progress of the Special Military Operation (17 May 2023)⚡️

💥The RF Armed Forces carried out a long-range sea-based high-precision weapons attack on a large ammunition depot at a ship-repair facility in Nikolayev.

◽️The strike goals have been reached. The assigned target has been neutralised.

◽️In Kupyansk direction, the attacks, launched by aviation and artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces, resulted in the neutralisation of the AFU manpower and hardware close to Novoselovskoye (LPR) Olshana, Petropavlovka and Masyutovka (Kharkov region).

◽️The actions of 6 AFU SRGs have been suppressed close to Timkovka (Kharkov region), Rozovka, Stelmakhovka and Novoselovskoye (LPR).

💥The AFU losses were up to 115 troops, 2 AFVs, 7 motor vehicles and 1 Msta-B howitzer.

◽️In Krasny Liman direction, the attacks, launched by Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems of the Tsentr Group of Forces, resulted in the neutralisation of the AFU units close to Nevskoye, Chervonaya Dibrova (LPR) and Grigorovka (DPR).

💥The 252nd Motorised Rifle Regiment units repelled 2 attacks by the AFU assault groups, supported by 2 tanks, close to Chervonopopovka (LPR). The AFU losses were over 30 troops and 1 tank.

◽️In Krasny Liman direction, the enemy losses were over 70 troops, 1 tank, 2 APCs, 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system and 1 D-30 howitzer.

◽️In Donetsk direction, the assault squads continued combat actions against the enemy in the western part of Artyomovsk. The units of the Yug Group of Forces restrained the enemy on the flanks.

◽️The most difficult situation was in the areas of Krasnoye and Bogdanovka (DPR), where Russian troops repelled 7 AFU attacks.

◽️As a result of the Airborne Troops' offensive actions, a more favourable line of defence has been taken.

◽️The attacks, launched by Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the Yug Group of Forces, have resulted in the neutralisation of the enemy manpower and hardware close to Konstantinovka and Krasnoye (DPR).

✈️Aviation has made 7 sorties close to Artyomovsk. The Group's artillery performed 64 firing missions.

◽️In Donetsk direction, the enemy losses were up to 360 troops and mercenaries, 4 APCs, 5 AFVs, 2 motor vehicles, 1 British L-119 howitzer, and 1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system.

💥1 munition depot of the AFU 110th Mechanised Brigade has been destroyed near Avdeyevka (DPR).

💥1 U.S. AN/TPQ-50 counterbattery warfare radar has been destroyed near Stupochki (DPR).

◽️In South Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, aviation, as well as artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the Vostok Group of Forces inflicted a fire damage on the enemy units near Pavlovka, Shevchenko, Chervonoye, Velikaya Novosyolka (DPR), Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka (Zaporozhye region).

💥The enemy losses were up to 150 troops, 2 AFVs, 6 motor vehicles and 1 D-30 howitzer.

◽️In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 40 troops, 2 AFVs, 3 motor vehicles, 2 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems and 1 Msta-B howitzer.

💥Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, and Artillery of the Russian Group of Forces have engaged 83 AFU artillery units, manpower, and hardware in 112 areas during the day.

💥1 AFU command post of Thunder tactical group has been hit close to Kherson.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in the #Zaporozhye Direction until 18:00 on 17 May 2023⚡️

Against the background of active fighting in #Bakhmut and the advance of the AFU on the flanks of the city, coverage of events in the southern direction - specifically in #Zaporozhye - decreased. Now more and more people and equipment are concentrated in various settlements of the #Zaporozhye and #Dnepropetrovsk regions.

According to some reports, the grouping of the AFU is up to 50-55 thousand people. The recruitment of new formations, including brigades from the army corps, is almost complete.

Among the members of the Ukrainian formations, they talk about the imminent intensification of hostilities — from a couple of days to a week. In the 108th Territorial Defence Brigade, identification signs ("white cross" on the roof of the equipment) are removed.

At least 16 tactical aircraft, some of which are carriers of Storm Shadow cruise missiles, and six Mi-8 helicopters are based at airfields in #Dnepropetrovsk and #Dolgintsevo.
