But it confirmed a local AFU offensive "in the direction of the settlement of Maloyilinovka".
๐ Malo-Iljinovka is located, according to old General Staff maps, 1 km northeast of Yagodne, on the northern edge of Bakhmut. From the outskirts of Bohdanivka, where, according to Wagner's PMC, the AFU offensive took place, it is more than 6 km to Malo-Ilyinivka.

Thus, the Russian Ministry of Defence at least confirmed the fact of active combat operations and an attack on the group's flank at the location indicated by the military correspondents of Wagner's PMC.

โก๏ธ๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ฆIt has been an interesting day today. Among Russian warbloggers and media a lot of rumours have been spread. These rumours became fast worse and worse. After a short while there where actually some kind of panic. Many different sources said that UkrAF had started the Counteroffensive and broken through russian defence lines on many places and that Bakhmut was encircled by the ukrainians.
All these rumours where strengthened by the way russian media and bloggers use Telegram. Everybody shares each others information so together that can create a storm of false information.
During the evening russian bloggers and media suddenly realised that nothing extraordinary happened today. There where a lot of ukrainian probing attacks all along the front. More than usual, but nothing on a large scale. So the panic subsided and everybody laughed relieved at all others who fell for the rumours, even if they also fell victim to the panic.
Yesterday and last night ukrainian forces made some progress SW of Bakhmut. North of Khromove they retook a minor area east of Bohdanivka. RuAF on the other hand took a small area north of Khromove, substantial areas in SW Bakhmut and some minor areas west of Kruta Balka on the eastern part of the Avdiivka salient. But today no changes on the front has been reported. From the Wagner group came the usual claims of capture of 60 000m2 without area specifications.
The most interesting thing today are the nervousness of many russian war bloggers and journalists. Had they been more sure of themselves they wouldn't have fallen pray so easily to today's panic. I believe many are disappointed of the lack of advances from the RuAF during the winter and albeit they hope that the stalemate at the front are due to successful russian attrition warfare, they still doubt it a bit, fearing that the real reason are ineptitude in the russian military.
Many on the russian side probably need one clear undisputed victory to become less nervous. Until then new panic might again very well appear regularly.

โ On the flanks, the RF Armed Forces have lost control over a number of positions and have been forced to retreat due to miscalculations in the organization of supplies and the arrival of reserves.
โช๏ธ In the #Ugledar direction, artillery shelling and mortars are operating from both sides.
๐ต Zaporozhye Direction reports enemy movement near #Orekhov, in the rear of the AFU (#Dnepropetrovsk logistics junction) - movement of armoured vehicles.
โช๏ธ In the #Kherson direction - the arrival of several hundred drones in #Kherson. Artillery duels, the enemy tries to knock out our vehicles apart from the usual targets.
โช๏ธ In the #Bryansk region, an enemy UAV attacked the Klintsovo Oil Depot of JSC Bryansknefteprodukt, PJSC Rosneft. There were no casualties.

โญ๏ธ The offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not start today.
An offensive operation is a long-term complex of measures coordinated between the branches of the armed forces and departments, requiring the setting in motion of tens of thousands of people. And it began by checking our guys in battle in Zaporozhye and Vugledar a few days and weeks ago.
Today, the concrete results of the offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become the most striking - the loss of positions and square kilometers in the Artemovsky (Bakhmut) direction. Unfortunately, there is footage from the places where the Nazis pose against the backdrop of abandoned anti-tank weapons.
The rest for now is the movement of equipment (Kharkov region), the discharge of smoke (not the first month) of poisonous ammunition (home-made rubbish with chemistry, until the front-line soldiers confirm this particular case), the pulling of troops to the Zaporozhye front, the movement of equipment through the Dnepropetrovsk logistics hub. Boats on the Dnieper are only on the Internet so far. The shelling of the DPR is, alas, the harsh reality of recent years.
This does not mean that everything is fine and you can go to the beach. Leaving positions occupied as a result of long bloody battles is a failure. And there is nothing good in the enemyโs offensive during the 14th month of the war either. Old strategic miscalculations are evident.
We are talking about the fact that, as such, there is no news in the transition of the enemy to the attack . They prepared for it, somewhere better, somewhere worse. Now FABs and other wonderful products are flying through the clusters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Wagner fights in Bakhmut. In Zaporozhye, the guys looked through the thermal imager, near Ugledar, not for the first day, the gunners support the queen of the fields - the infantry.
What should we NOT do in this situation? Don't panic. That definitely won't help. And now the enemy will disperse lies about the "capture" of villages, the "transfer" of tanks, "explosions" everywhere. When addressing colleagues in the shop, remember that the enemy also attacks the feedback bots of telegram channels.
What should we do? The same as always. Help the front. We won (boasting) with the people's money (bow to everyone) bought jeeps and one of them is prepared to be sent to the front. Speak only the truth that you have seen personally. Men get ready. Because the offensive will go on for more than one day (although the offensive potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is limited), and the war ... the war will be long.

Sun Tzu wrote 3,000 years ago that "all warfare is based on deception." This is no less true today. Probably more, actually, what with almost all-seeing ISR and social media to disseminate psyops.
It's easy to dismiss media manipulations as inferior to physical weapons. Sure, PR warfare aimed at the gullible Western public on social media isn't going to change much in a mud pit somewhere northwest of Donetsk. But deception can be โ and has been โ applied on the tactical level as well. Napoleon's departure from the Pratzen Heights at Austerlitz is but one example.
All too many of us observe the war the way people watch sports, forgetting it's not a game. It's hell. I retain awareness of this, having been in one, and even I get carried away sometimes.

The situation in Pakistan remains turbulent: people continue to protest and move towards the government area of Islamabad , and army units are stationed in the cities.
Pakistan's Supreme Court ruled today that the detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan was illegal. The former head of the republic was released with security assurances.
Immediately afterwards, mechanised units, probably 111 brigades, began arriving at the courthouse. Accumulations of heavy armoured vehicles are increasingly visible in the capital.
According to pro-Pakistan sources, in the context of Khan's release, the military command is ready for radical actions to preserve the current order.
๐ป A purge has begun in the ranks of the Pakistan Army: commanders and military officers who refused to comply with the order to suppress the protests by force are being removed from the ranks of the armed forces.
The recognition of the former prime minister's arrest as illegitimate further battered the reputation of the current party and military leadership. They are now trying with all their might to change the approach by threatening opposition journalists.
The British-backed Shahbaz Sharif administration is unlikely to admit defeat. With a high degree of probability, some calm in Pakistan is only a temporary event.

The situation in Pakistan remains turbulent: people continue to protest and move towards the government area of Islamabad , and army units are stationed in the cities.
Pakistan's Supreme Court ruled today that the detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan was illegal. The former head of the republic was released with security assurances.
Immediately afterwards, mechanised units, probably 111 brigades, began arriving at the courthouse. Accumulations of heavy armoured vehicles are increasingly visible in the capital.
According to pro-Pakistan sources, in the context of Khan's release, the military command is ready for radical actions to preserve the current order.
๐ป A purge has begun in the ranks of the Pakistan Army: commanders and military officers who refused to comply with the order to suppress the protests by force are being removed from the ranks of the armed forces.
The recognition of the former prime minister's arrest as illegitimate further battered the reputation of the current party and military leadership. They are now trying with all their might to change the approach by threatening opposition journalists.
The British-backed Shahbaz Sharif administration is unlikely to admit defeat. With a high degree of probability, some calm in Pakistan is only a temporary event.

Trump gave an interview to CNN for the first time since leaving office. He called it unfair that the US spent $150 billion on Ukraine and Europe only spent $20 billion. Former US President says that he doesn't bet on Ukraine's victory, that Putin is "very smart and cunning" and did not accuse Russia of war crimes, although CNN tried to draw this out.
