NATO coming out of hibernation — military bloc preparing for possible combat operations on its borders
NATO is getting ready for possible hostilities on its borders, but so far the military forces that could be deployed on the border with Russia are insufficient, The New York Times wrote. This decision will inevitably lead to an increase of military expenditures and higher demands on its allies in terms of weaponry and human resources.
Reportedly, the exact location of NATO troops is unknown. Earlier the command of the military-political bloc announced that there are no plans to form combat groups on the territory of recently joined Finland. Whether this decision will hold after announcing the readiness for possible combat operations is now under question.

The ban applies to grains, dairy products, sugar, fruit, vegetables and meats and will be in force until the end of June. The Commission said it was not up to individual member states to make trade policy.
- First, it was said the Ukrainian grain was needed in poor nations risking famine, and second, EU countries are no sovereign any longer.

"Russia has blocked about 50 ships with urgently needed grain in the Black Sea," says Josep Borrell.
For some reason, the European diplomat forgot to add that Hungary, Poland and Slovakia are blocking much larger volumes of grains and products from Ukraine.

No sooner had the authorities of Poland and Hungary introduced a ban on the import of grain from Ukraine, that Brussels had already criticized this decision with the wording "unilateral actions are unacceptable."
▪️ Last year, as a result of an excess of Ukrainian products on the European market, the incomes of farmers in Poland, Hungary and other countries of Eastern Europe fell sharply.
▪️ Over the weekend, the Hungarian Minister of Agriculture said that “in the absence of significant measures from the EU”, his country, following Poland , will limit the import of Ukrainian grain until the end of June.
▪️ The reaction from Brussels was not long in coming - already on Sunday, a representative of the European Commission said that trade policy is within the "exclusive competence of the EU", and "unilateral actions are unacceptable."
🔻 This is not the first time that the government of Viktor Orban goes against the political course set in Brussels.
Thus, Hungary became one of the few countries in Europe that refused to join the anti-Russian sanctions in the energy sector. In Budapest, they actively opposed the introduction of restrictions on the supply of Russian oil, and the embargo affected only sea supplies.
▪️ Despite pressure from Brussels, last week the Hungarians also extended the agreement signed in the fall with Gazprom on additional gas supplies. Viktor Orban has repeatedly made it clear that he will block the spread of sanctions to nuclear energy as well.
❗️However, for such "wilfulness" the members of the bloc are already facing "punishment" from Brussels. When Viktor Orban blocked the approval of the sixth package of sanctions, which was clearly contrary to the national interests of his country, the Deputy President of the European Parliament , Katarina Barli , proposed depriving Hungary of the right to vote in the EU.
🔻 Even more indicative in this regard is the situation with legislation in the field of restricting LGBT propaganda among children. For introducing a ban on the demonstration of same-sex love in schools, the Hungarian government was deprived of funding for 7 billion euros.
As colleagues from the @prosto_magyar channel note, European officials, pursuing the interests of certain groups, are leading the economies of the states included in the bloc to inevitable collapse.
Are they doing this on purpose or is the system truly in agony, that is the real question.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in the #Zaporozhye Direction until 13:00 on 18 Apr⚡️
🔹In the #Orekhov Section, units of the Center for Information and Psychological Operations of the Ukrainian Forces of Special Operation are spreading false information about the alleged offensive of the AFU on #Lobkovoye and #Rabotino.
To date, there have been no attacks by the AFU. However, there is talk amongst members of Ukrainian formations of an attack being prepared for 20 April on #Tokmak and #Pologi at the same time as #NATO exercises near the Russian borders.
▪️ Units of the AFU's 71st Army Jager Brigade have arrived in the area and are taking positions on the second line of defence north of #Gulyaypole. In addition, the presence of paratroopers from the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces' 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade, which were redeployed from the #Soledar direction after being re-staffed, has also been noted.
▪️ The grouping of troops "Zaporozhye" command conducts regular communication checks between units of the AFU's 65th Mechanized Brigade, 71st Jager Brigade, 1st Separate Tank Brigade, 102nd, 108th, 110th Territorial Defence Brigades, as well as the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade and the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces' 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.
▪️ Additional units and military equipment continue to be transferred to the frontline. Fire positions of M777 howitzers and M109 self-propelled artillery guns have been equipped near #Kamyshevakha, #Tavriyskoye and #Orekhov.
▪️ At Zolotaya Balka and #Maryanskoye near the #Kakhovka reservoir, training of assault units in forcing water obstacles is being completed.
📌 The high Activity of Ukrainian Information Centers and the concentration of significant reserves in the #Zaporozhye region indicates an imminent intensification of hostilities, probably in the period from 20 to 25 April.
It is highly probable that the AFU will make several local attempts to break through the RF Armed Forces' defences at the #Pologi and #Orekhov sections to assess the Russian Army's defences before conducting a 👉 full-scale assault in early May.

▪️ Another assault group on light armoured vehicles, up to a platoon in number, from the 3rd Battalion of the AFU's 68th Separate Jager Infantry Brigade attacked the Russian positions near #Pavlovka.
▪️ Prior to this, M777 howitzer crews conducted artillery preparations and reconnaissance UAVs and copters were active in the air, delivered in large numbers to the Donetsk direction as part of separate UAV companies.
📌 Both Enemy Attacks were repelled by the combined efforts of infantry units and army aviation. The forces of the AFU's 68th Separate Jager Infantry Brigade and 72nd Mechanized Brigades withdrew to their initial positions.
Now the situation is stable. The 68th Brigade is being re-staffed near #Novoukrainka. A large number of people and equipment are concentrated in #Bogatyr to the northwest of #Ugledar at the range.
It is currently unclear what kind of unit has arrived in #Bogatyr. The 23rd Mechanized Brigade has recently completed its training in #Novomoskovsk, and the Brigade itself is scheduled to be deployed to either the #Zaporozhye or #Donetsk directions.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
◽️ In Kupyansk direction, Ground-Attack and Army aviation and artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces have engaged the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) close to Krakhmalnoye, Olshana, Kucherovka, and Dvurechnaya (Kharkov region).
💥 In addition, actions of two sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the AFU were thwarted near Sinkovka (Kharkov region) and Novoselovskoye (Lugansk People's Republic).
💥 The enemy has suffered losses of up to 35 Ukrainian troops, one tank, two armoured fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, two U.S.-made Paladin M109 self-propelled howitzers, and one D-20 howitzer in this direction in the past 24 hours.
◽️ In Krasny Liman direction, aircraft and artillery of the Tsentr Group of Forces engaged the units of the AFU close to Chervonaya Dibrova, Chervonopopovka (Lugansk People's Republic), and Grigorovka and Terny (Donetsk People's Republic).
💥 The enemy's casualties were more than 80 Ukrainian personnel and two armoured fighting vehicles.
◽️ In Donetsk direction, the assault detachments have taken control over three quarters in northern, central, and southern parts of the city of Artyomovsk.
◽️ Airborne Troops and units of the Yug Group of Forces have been supporting the actions of the assault detachments to liberate the city in this area, foiling the enemy's attempts to counter attacks on the flanks.

◽️ In Kherson direction, more than 25 Ukrainian troops, three motor vehicles, one U.S.-made M777 artillery system, and two D-30 howitzers have been destroyed in the past 24 hours.

💥 The enemy's casualties were more than 80 Ukrainian personnel and two armoured fighting vehicles.
◽️ In Donetsk direction, the assault detachments have taken control over three quarters in northern, central, and southern parts of the city of Artyomovsk.
◽️ Airborne Troops and units of the Yug Group of Forces have been supporting the actions of the assault detachments to liberate the city in this area, foiling the enemy's attempts to counter attacks on the flanks.
