๐ด The RF Armed Forces launched "Geranium" strikes overnight in #Kiev, #Khmelnytsky and #Zhytomyr regions.
โ In the evening, a strike was launched against the Shkolny airfield in #Odessa, from where the AFU launch UAVs against #Crimea.
โ In the afternoon, missile weapons struck industrial facilities in #Zaporozhye.
โช๏ธ From Sevastopol in the morning, air defence forces were reported to be operating against aerial targets, as well as countering enemy maritime drones. The city's bay entrances were blocked.
โช๏ธ South of #Kremennaya near #Belogorovka, active operations of the Russian Army were reported.
โช๏ธ In the #Avdeyevka direction of the RF Armed Forces, there are battles in the previously achieved lines.
โ A very limited amount of artillery ammunition was reported from one of the sectors in this direction, and therefore the support of the advancing infantry is weak.
โช๏ธ In #Artyomovsk (#Bakhmut) heavy fighting continues. The Wagner PMCs have advanced into the city from the north and south.

Marked by armed conflict and jihadist insurgency since 2015, Burkina Faso remains the victim of great political and security instability. Burkina Faso's government appears to be trying a new strategy, inviting #Russia to take the place of #France as regional peacekeepers and calling for volunteers to defend the country.

In October 2022, Burkina Faso launched a campaign to recruit 50,000 citizens to join the Volunteers for Homeland Defence to help counter the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara, the Islam and Muslim Support Group and Ansar al-Islam, all three of which, are active in the north of the country.

In January 2023, the Burkina Faso government revoked and eventually terminated the 17 December 2018 agreement "concerning the status of the French Armed Forces intervening" in the country. The authorities also demand the withdrawal of 400 French troops who have been present there since 2009. The capital, #Ouagadougou, is showing its willingness to diversify its strategic partnerships by opting for #Russia.

Some people are rejoicing over this decision and are openly calling for a rapprochement with #Russia, as evidenced by the remarks of Aniset Ouedraogo, a student from Burkina Faso, quoted by Africanews.

"This is a great initiative. It should have been done immediately because at this moment we need honest partners who can really work with Burkina Faso." - He said.

#Russia has made it clear that it is ready: Alexander Ivanov, one of the Russian military instructors in Central Africa, tweeted his support and "exchange of experience" with the Burkina Faso Army. During a visit to Mali on 7 February 2023, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pledged help from #Russia to countries in the Sahel and the Gulf of Guinea facing jihadists.

The NATO Secretary General believes that China needs to take Zelensky's opinion in the context of the peace settlement plan and negotiations in Moscow.
I immediately remember how the Ukrainian side turned up its nose and fundamentally refused to take into account the opinion of the LDPR representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group even before the war, when escalation could really have been avoided.
The argument was reduced to the lack of political independence among the representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk. The question arises: why on earth, according to their own logic, should someone take into account the opinion of Ukraine?

The soldiers of the 34th battalion of the 57th Ukrainian Army's brigade, who miraculously survived near Bakhmut, recorded a video message in which they announced that they did not want to carry out criminal orders. The entire formation unanimously repeated the phrase "I do not trust" in relation to the command, which deceives them and sends them to a sure, stupid death. According to the soldiers, they had suffered great losses, and this was the eighth or ninth time this situation had repeated itself.
"On March 17, we were thrown into an encirclement, without artillery support or communications, just thrown on armor. We went out in the fields, no evacuation point, no communication, our own people were winged from all sides.... Literally 2 days passed and they tried to send us to the same place, telling us tales that the positions were held, artillery was working, etc.. But knowing the situation, we don't believe it! We refuse to carry out the order," the commander appealed on behalf of the entire unit.

๐ค British Deputy Defense Minister Annabel Goldie said that the United Kingdom would send depleted uranium shells to the Kiev regime.
โ๏ธ A number of military experts say that the use of depleted uranium shells threatens the health of civilians: they infect the area and cause outbreaks of cancer.
๐ Depleted uranium was first used in tank shells in Nazi Germany. Now it is used in the ammunition of American Abrams tanks. They can be used in German Leopard 2, British Challenger 2, as well as in the ammunition of guns of American A-10 attack aircraft and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.

The RF Armed Forces carried out overnight strikes against enemy facilities using the Geran-2 kamikaze drones. Among other targets were the buildings of a professional lyceum in #Rzhishchev, #Kiev region.
Judging by photos from the arrival site, part of the school building was destroyed by an explosion and a fire broke out in the vicinity of the hit. A nearby dormitory was also damaged.
Ukrainian official resources are reporting at least four civilian deaths. It is only since the beginning of February last year that the bulk of Ukraine's educational institutions have been operating remotely. There was simply no reason for students or teachers to be in the lyceum, especially not at night.
It is far more likely that personnel of the AFU or other Ukrainian security forces have been stationed there. It is still not uncommon for them to occupy empty educational establishments in the rear areas, to which all the necessary communications are connected. And the Rzhishchev 110 PS and boiler house are just next to the affected facility.
