◾In military conflicts involving DU munitions, the major concern is inhalation of DU particles in aerosols arising from the impacts of DU-enhanced projectiles with their targets. When depleted uranium munitions penetrate armor or burn, they create depleted uranium oxides in the form of dust that can be inhaled or contaminate wounds. The Institute of Nuclear Technology-Radiation Protection of Attiki, Greece, has noted that "the aerosol produced during impact and combustion of depleted uranium munitions can potentially contaminate wide areas around the impact sites or can be inhaled by civilians and military personnel". 🔴 The RF Armed Forces launched "Geranium" strikes overnight in #Kiev, #Khmelnytsky and #Zhytomyr regions.
➖ In the evening, a strike was launched against the Shkolny airfield in #Odessa, from where the AFU launch UAVs against #Crimea.
➖ In the afternoon, missile weapons struck industrial facilities in #Zaporozhye.
▪️ From Sevastopol in the morning, air defence forces were reported to be operating against aerial targets, as well as countering enemy maritime drones. The city's bay entrances were blocked.
▪️ South of #Kremennaya near #Belogorovka, active operations of the Russian Army were reported.
▪️ In the #Avdeyevka direction of the RF Armed Forces, there are battles in the previously achieved lines.
➖ A very limited amount of artillery ammunition was reported from one of the sectors in this direction, and therefore the support of the advancing infantry is weak.
▪️ In #Artyomovsk (#Bakhmut) heavy fighting continues. The Wagner PMCs have advanced into the city from the north and south.
➖ Fighting has intensified to the north of the city in the direction of the road to #Seversk.
🔵 The AFU dropped an improvised explosive device from a UAV on the Druzhba oil pipeline (Novozybkov refinery) in the #Bryansk region. The village of Klimovo was shelled.

📌 It is possible that the AFU is forming a strike force in this area for a possible attempt to force the river through the islands of Belogrudy and Bolshoy Potyomkin.
➖ #Beregovoye, #Yantarnoye, #Belozyorka, #Dneprovskoye and #Blagoveshchenskoye have been hit. Artillery also struck at #Kazatskoye, Chervony Mayak and #Dudchany. (Fig. 1)
🔹On the #Donetsk Front, Russian forces again attacked near #Novomikhaylovka.
➖ From the #Peski side they continued their offensive towards #Pervomayskoye.

Marked by armed conflict and jihadist insurgency since 2015, Burkina Faso remains the victim of great political and security instability. Burkina Faso's government appears to be trying a new strategy, inviting #Russia to take the place of #France as regional peacekeepers and calling for volunteers to defend the country.

In October 2022, Burkina Faso launched a campaign to recruit 50,000 citizens to join the Volunteers for Homeland Defence to help counter the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara, the Islam and Muslim Support Group and Ansar al-Islam, all three of which, are active in the north of the country.

In January 2023, the Burkina Faso government revoked and eventually terminated the 17 December 2018 agreement "concerning the status of the French Armed Forces intervening" in the country. The authorities also demand the withdrawal of 400 French troops who have been present there since 2009. The capital, #Ouagadougou, is showing its willingness to diversify its strategic partnerships by opting for #Russia.

Some people are rejoicing over this decision and are openly calling for a rapprochement with #Russia, as evidenced by the remarks of Aniset Ouedraogo, a student from Burkina Faso, quoted by Africanews.

#Russia has made it clear that it is ready: Alexander Ivanov, one of the Russian military instructors in Central Africa, tweeted his support and "exchange of experience" with the Burkina Faso Army. During a visit to Mali on 7 February 2023, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pledged help from #Russia to countries in the Sahel and the Gulf of Guinea facing jihadists.

I immediately remember how the Ukrainian side turned up its nose and fundamentally refused to take into account the opinion of the LDPR representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group even before the war, when escalation could really have been avoided.
The argument was reduced to the lack of political independence among the representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk. The question arises: why on earth, according to their own logic, should someone take into account the opinion of Ukraine?

The soldiers of the 34th battalion of the 57th Ukrainian Army's brigade, who miraculously survived near Bakhmut, recorded a video message in which they announced that they did not want to carry out criminal orders. The entire formation unanimously repeated the phrase "I do not trust" in relation to the command, which deceives them and sends them to a sure, stupid death. According to the soldiers, they had suffered great losses, and this was the eighth or ninth time this situation had repeated itself.
"On March 17, we were thrown into an encirclement, without artillery support or communications, just thrown on armor. We went out in the fields, no evacuation point, no communication, our own people were winged from all sides.... Literally 2 days passed and they tried to send us to the same place, telling us tales that the positions were held, artillery was working, etc.. But knowing the situation, we don't believe it! We refuse to carry out the order," the commander appealed on behalf of the entire unit.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine can take an offensive without aviation - after all, they are not the first to attack without their own air support (or with minimal air support) against an enemy with an air force. Here the question is rather about how we can respond to this offensive.
With a timely reaction, the Ukrainian has practically no chance of success - just like in September in the Kherson region, where he lost dozens of pieces of equipment and many people under the blows of our helicopters, bombers and attack aircraft. The question is whether it will be possible to reveal the direction of the main attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a timely manner, concentrating the necessary forces in this direction, and also whether the enemy will try to attack the airfields by sabotage and terrorist methods before he starts. We must be prepared for such a development of events, given that the stake will be placed not so much on damage, but on confusion, disorganization and loss of time. The new extended-range ammunition for the Hymars cannot be discounted either - at least helicopter pilots are within their range.
