Again about the crash of an American UAV off the coast of Crimea

The US Air Force European Command published a video from the camera of the MQ-9 Reaper drone that crashed (https://t.me/rybar/44625) into the sea off the coast of Crimea during a reconnaissance sortie on March 14.

▪️The video shows the approach of the Russian Su-27 fighter, which opens the release valve and douses the UAV with fuel. Then the Aerospace Forces aircraft makes the same second approach, after which the picture disappears.

▪️At the end of the recording, one can clearly see the deformation of one of the blades, presumably caused by the impact of a fuel jet. Apparently, it was this damage to the main rotor that caused the MQ-9 to fall into the waters of the Black Sea.

As we wrote earlier (https://t.me/rybar/44625), what happened was a logical consequence of the provocative actions of NATO aviation in the Black Sea. For months, alliance drones have been coming close to the Crimean coast and coordinating Ukrainian strikes on the peninsula.

It is quite possible that what happened will force the United States, if not to reduce intelligence activity in the region, then at least to stay away from Russian airspace.

NATO STILL LOOKING FOR TANKS FOR UKRAINE

The Ukrainian counteroffensive has two scenarios - Politico

The United States is actively providing assistance to Ukraine and is considering two scenarios:
▪️First - the Armed Forces of Ukraine will move from north to east, and then - to the south , trying to cut Russia's land corridor. This scenario is considered more likely.
▪️ The second scenario is that Ukrainian troops will immediately move south through Kherson towards Crimea. The big problem here is that Russian troops have dug in in the east of the Dnieper, and Ukraine does not have enough manpower to carry out landing operations.

Today the New York Times had a story, sourced to anonymous US and EU officials (as usual) that Ukraine is using up the men and ammunition they wanted for the "spring offensive" (presumably towards Crimea) to get chewed up in Bakhmut/Artyomovsk instead.

It's possible this is an attempt to communicate to Zelensky, via a major US outlet, that he needs to reconsider. I figure it's more likely that it's another part of a wider deception campaign aimed at Russia. But it doesn't really matter what I think, only what the Russian general staff makes of it. One way or another, we'll find out soon enough.

In the midst of the war, they decided to dismiss one of the most combat-ready officers not only in the Airborne Forces, but also in the Armed Forces! Just think about it! One of the most combat-ready officers who has been fighting the orcs since 2014. 9 years! An officer who knows about orcs, their tactics, weapons not from a warm office in Zhytomyr, but from the trench! The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

💥In Kupyansk direction, aviation of the 'Zapad' Group of Forces inflicted fire damage on the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) close to Dvurechnoye, Berestovoye (Kharkov region), and Artyomovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

◻️The enemy suffered losses of over 40 Ukrainian servicemen, one armoured fighting vehicle, two vehicles, and one ammunition depot of the 113th Territorial Defence Brigade.

💥In Krasny Liman direction, units of the 'Tsentr' Group of Forces, aviation, artillery inflicted fire damage on enemy manpower and hardware close to Terny and Yampolovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◻️More than 70 Ukrainian servicemen, one infantry fighting vehicle, one armoured fighting vehicle, three pick-up trucks, one motor vehicle, and one D-30 howitzer have been neutralised in this area during the day.

💥In Donetsk direction, units of the 'Yug' Group of Forces and artillery have eliminated up to 135 Ukrainian troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, four pick-up trucks, one motor vehicle, one Grad MLRS vehicle, one D-30 howitzer, one ammunition depot of the 53rd Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine close to Semenovka, Petrovskoye, and Tonenkoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

💥In South Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, artillery and aviation of the 'Vostok' Group of Forces engaged the AFU units close to Ugledar and Novomikhailovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◻️The total losses of the enemy in these directions amounted to 65 Ukrainian servicemen, two armoured fighting vehicles, two pick-up trucks, three motor vehicles, and two D-20 howitzers.

🔹 What could be the Reason for this?

After the downing of the Reaper, US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said US aviation would continue to fly over the Black Sea waters despite the incident. According to the Pentagon, the US Air Force drones are in no way provoking #Russia by conducting reconnaissance right under its nose.

He did not elaborate that almost every such mass gathering of enemy reconnaissance aircraft, especially the presence of E-3Fs of the French Air Force, is followed by a raid by Ukrainian kamikaze drones on Russian targets in the south, including the #Crimea, the #Krasnodar and the #Rostov regions.

In addition, ships of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet are now searching for and recovering the wreckage of the US drone at sea. According to the latest information, some parts of the UAV were found at a depth of 900 meters and the Black Sea Fleet warships are on duty around the area.

Satellite imagery dated 15 March from the alleged location of the MQ-9A elements surfaced today, so the surge in US Air Force reconnaissance activity is not surprising. A NATO RQ-4D Phoenix is currently circling in this area.

At the same time another Reaper entered the airspace over the Black Sea about half an hour ago. At least eight aircraft are operating in the Black Sea area, which may be preparation for larger raids or sabotage.

📌 Western partners have previously supplied an unknown number of naval drones to the AFU, which have already been used in attempted attacks on Black Sea Fleet ships. Now both Ukrainian and US authorities are interested in a change of infomercials amid the fall of the Reaper and the huge losses near #Bakhmut.

The presence of many reconnaissance aircraft of various types can make it possible to determine the exact location of ships and provide target designation for drones - this is a factor that must be taken into account and be prepared for all possible scenarios, up to the need to destroy enemy aircraft.
