At 00.01 on 1 January 2023, a HIMARS MLRS attack was launched against the vocational school building in #Makeyevka, Donetsk (two shells were intercepted by the air defence, four reached their target). Since mid-December, the vocational school had housed the 14444 regiment. Yes, they were all mobilised. It was also where someone's criminal naivety decided to place a depot with ammunition, which detonated as a result of the strike.

▪️ According to our information, there were about 600 people in total in the building.

▪️ The confirmed fatalities are around 70. Clearance of the rubble continues. Estimated irretrievable losses reach 110 people.

▪️ More than 100 wounded (according to Operational Reports 136).

▪️ Documents and communications have been lost and control has been disrupted.

The mobilised claim responsibility lies with regimental commander Colonel Roman Yenikeyev. We partially disagree with them.The Colonel's only fault is that he blindly followed orders of his superiors and failed to settle his unit in accordance with the realities of the front.

🩸The blame for the tragedy lies with the command of the 1st Army Corps of the DPR People's Militia. Unfortunately after the death of General Roman Kutuzov, the command of the unit began to neglect common sense and intelligence information in favor of some kind of military science and expediency.

Versions of what happened have already appeared on the Internet - they include use of mobile phones, and agents of the enemy on the ground. Everyone is to blame, except the leadership, which decided to choose a place of maximum compactness.

The strike on the vocational school is not the first incident on the conscience of the corps command. On 12 August, artillery of the enemy hit the command post, which was located in the control building of Leninskaya mine. Even intelligence information about the impending attack did not lead to any conclusions - as a result, tragedy struck.

The work of the military prosecutor's office will increase. The main thing is not to write off the incident by assigning blame, but to unravel the whole thread.

◻️ Over 40 Ukrainian personnel, 3 armoured personnel carriers, and 2 pickups have been eliminated.

💥 In Donetsk direction, neutralisation of the units from 60th Mechanised Infantry and 79th Airborne Assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as offensive action of Russian forces have resulted in obtaining new advantageous frontiers.

◻️ The enemy has lost up to 70 Ukrainian personnel, 4 armoured fighting vehicles, and 5 motor vehicles.

💥 In South Donetsk direction, complex shelling at enemy units near Zolotaya Niva and Prechistovka (Donetsk People's Republic) has resulted in the elimination of over 40 Ukrainian personnel, 3 armoured fighting vehicles, and 2 pickups.

💥 Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian groups of forces have neutralised 67 artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and military equipment at 92 areas.

◻️ 2 AFU ordnance depots, and 1 fuel depot of 102nd Territorial Defence Brigade have been destroyed near Orekhov, Malinovka, and Zaliznichnoye (Zaporozhye region).

◻️ 1 fuel depot of Khortitsa group of forces has been destroyed near Dnepropetrovsk.

💥 Within the counterbattery warfare, 2 U.S.-manufactured M-777 artillery systems have been destroyed at their firing positions near Chasov Yar and Minkovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◻️ 1 Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled howitzer has been destroyed near Antonovka (Kharkov region).

Makeevka. How to prevent this

Our officers and soldiers from among the front-line soldiers have tremendous experience in dispersing personnel on the ground and in urban areas. We have heard more than once what measures are being taken already at the stage of approaching the threatened area: the distribution of new arrivals in small groups in basements and dugouts, camouflage of equipment, movement at night, shelter of personnel in any way possible.

Yes, sometimes all this is not done according to instructions, the equipment is not put in line with stones specially painted with lime, but this makes it possible to make a strike from high-precision weapons ineffective, or to decide on the inappropriateness of such a strike.

▪️ In the area west of #Yagodnoye, units of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade have been partially rotated. Reinforcements with a tank have arrived in the brigade's area of responsibility, and Javelin anti-tank systems have been delivered to the #Peschanoye and #Stelmakhovka areas.

▪️ In addition, personnel from an unidentified Ukrainian army unit from Zolochevsky district are expected to arrive in the Kharkov region on 6-7 January.

♦️#Liman Area:

▪️ The enemy is preparing for a large-scale offensive on #Kremennaya. Pontoon crossings have been set up at the #Dronovka - #Serebryanka line.

🩸 The most likely area of the offensive is currently in the direction of #Kremennaya. The AFU are now actively engaged in fighting batteries and searching for artillery firing points and air defence positions.

Air Defence Forces manoeuvre groups are actively intercepting communications of Russian servicemen and are pinging the location of radar stations and personnel.

At the same time, the grouping is reinforced by the deployment of armoured vehicles. With the onset of cold weather and frozen ground, attempts to break through the Russian defences near #Dibrova and reach #Kremennaya can be expected.
