🌐 Russia and Ukraine were on the verge of signing a peace treaty in the spring of 2022, according to an investigation by Die Welt
The German newspaper obtained a 17-page draft Russian-Ukrainian treaty dated April 15, 2022. According to this document, Kiev:
✔️agreed to remain a neutral country;
✔️undertook not to receive, produce or acquire nuclear weapons;
✔️received security guarantees from the US, the UK, France and China.
Moscow's insistence that Ukraine make Russian its second official language was reportedly one of the stumbling blocks.
Die Welt also claimed that the treaty also excluded the Russian peninsula of Crimea and parts of Donbass from any security guarantees granted to Ukraine.
☝️ However, it is unclear which parts of Donbass were covered by this clause. The details were reportedly to be discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Ukraine and Russia were thus close to a peace deal, but progress was presumably scuttled by then-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who advised Kiev to continue fighting.

🔹In the #Kherson direction, the AFU commander-in-chief Syrsky reported in public for some reason that he had taken control of the island of #Nestriga in the floodplain of the #Dnieper. The mishap of the situation is in the location of the island (it is closer to the enemy's coast) and its tactical importance - counter actions on the islands are going on all the time and the fact of "holding" this island by a small infantry group of 7-8 people does not mean anything. By nightfall we received information that the AFU infantry group on the island had been destroyed. Mutual artillery shelling and drone strikes continue in the direction. Two civilians were killed in #Dnepryany settlement due to the AFU mortar shelling
🔹On the #Zaporozhye front, the AFU are increasing the use of "Baba Yaga" type drones for terrain mines and bombardments. They report the use of up to 20 drones, enemy artillery is working closely.
🔹In #Krasnogorovka in the South Donetsk direction, the RFAF are using 240mm Tulpan mortars, our forward units are outflanking the Refractory Plant.
🔹West of #Avdeyevka (#Pokrovskoye direction), there is an assault on the settlement of #Netaylovo, the RFAF are expanding the bridgehead of #Ocheretino - #Novobakhmutovka - #Solovyevo, and they are developing an attack on #Keramik from #Novokalinovo.
🔹On the #ChasovYar front, there is heavy fighting. It is reported that the enemy has transferred special forces of the GUR to the direction in the hope of holding back the Russian Army's onslaught.
🔹In the #Kupyansk direction, the RFAF planted a flag in #Kislovka, a section of the front "woke up" the other day, our troops went on the offensive.
💥 The AFU's shelling of the #Kursk and #Belgorod regions continues. In the #DPR, one civilian was killed and one wounded as a result of Nazi shelling.
🎬 Kupyansk direction, reports from the channel Greetings from home 152 - Ours put a flag in #Kislovka, and yesterday we intensified offensive actions in the direction of the RFAF.

🟡 In the area of #Novosyolvskoye, the AFU inflicted a fire defeat on an enemy assault group. Without significant changes.
🔴 #Pokrovskoye direction (formerly #Avdeyevka),
🟡 Northwest of #Ocheretino, Russian troops advanced in a section up to 1.2 km wide to a depth of 1.71 km and occupied height 245. (⭐️ Map 3)
🟡 In #Ocheretino's northern part, fighting continues in the Hydraulic Builders Microdistrict.
🟡 #Netaylovo, located west of #Pervomayskoye, was assaulted by the Russian troops. Fighting is taking place in the eastern part of the village along Chkalov and Beskaravayny streets. The AFU inflicted a fire defeat on the enemy infantry at the point:

🔵 On the #Zaporozhye Front, positional battles continue in #Rabotino and northwest of #Verbovoye. Long range weapons from both sides are working. The line of contact has not changed significantly. (Fig. 1)
🔵 On the #Donetsk Front, fighting continues in #Krasnogorovka, so far without any serious advances. In the area of #Netaylovo, there are tactical successes of the Russian troops.
🟡 In #Umanskoye there are no changes. In the area of #Berdychi, the clearing of the Ukrainian garrison's remnants continues.
🟡 The situation is similar in #Novokalinovo and #Keramik. (Fig. 2)
🔵 In the #ChasovYar Direction, the line of contact has not changed significantly. The AFU is bringing in reserves to stop the advance of Russian troops. The RFAF are accumulating forces and are not taking active assault actions, consistently striking with long range weapons at the positions of Ukrainian troops and trying to take the most advantageous positions for a further attack on the town. Elon Musk called the work of Ukraine and the United States on a security agreement, as well as US measures to support the Kiev regime, madness. This is how he commented on a post by US David Sacks on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Sacks noted that Ukraine and the US are developing a security agreement that “will fix levels of support for the next 10 years.”
