❗️🇷🇺 🇺🇦 About the attack on the patrol boat “Sergei Kotov” - analysis @rybar

Since all emotions and feelings about the upcoming AFU attack with BEC and the loss of the patrol boat " Sergei Kotov " have subsided, we would like to talk in more detail about what happened that night.

And the goal of this analysis is not to reproach the Black Sea Fleet.

📌The goal is to show Ukrainian tactics and what you should pay attention to prevent this from happening in the future, and also talk about the problems of our fleet using the example of Project 22160 ships.

🔻 AFU attack progress:

▪️After midnight, the patrol ship "Sergey Kotov", which was on combat duty south of the Kerch Strait, was attacked by five AFU unmanned ships (they were preparing for the attack, the BECs were adrift in the central part of the Black Sea).

▪️Why did the five BECs hit the ship? The answer, unfortunately, lies in the problems of the Project 22160 ship itself (by no means do we want to divert focus from the Black Sea Fleet, but still).

The ships are simply not equipped with the necessary means of protection: there is no air defense or anti-submarine defence. Only two machine guns are catastrophically insufficient to achieve group objectives.

▪️After the impact, a tugboat and a patrol boat came to the aid of the crew, and a Mi-8 Rosguard helicopter flew to the site of the attack, destroying the sixth unmanned ship west of the "Sergei Kotov".

▪️At 3 in the morning, most of the crew was evacuated to tugboats (there were three in total) and it was decided to drag the ship to the port. However, the fight for survival that started late due to waiting for command orders (here the Black Fleet's lack of flexibility was directly to blame) essentially decided the outcome.

▪️In the morning, "Sergey Kotov" began to sink southeast of Cape Takil. Three more BECs appeared south of the Crimean Bridge, which was destroyed by the Mi-8 helicopter thanks to the illumination of the tugboats' searchlights. The bridge was apparently the target of the attack.

❗️Several important points can be seen throughout the attack:

➖Project 22160 ships are not equipped to combat modern threats. Relatively cheap BECs render expensive ships useless. This is even though they are also defenceless against unmanned aerial vehicles due to the lack of air defence.

➖At the same time, for some unknown reason, the crews of the searchlight tug and the Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Guard managed to deal with the BECs on their own.

➖The bureaucratic procedures that arose at the time of the attack caused the fight for the ship's survival to begin quite late. She could have been saved if everything had started on time.

➖For now, unfortunately, we have to admit that the entire fleet is out of practice in correcting its own mistakes: the same problems arise systematically. Going out on patrol alone without proper equipment and surveillance at night... nothing has changed yet.

➖But the tactics of the AFU have changed: they now attack at night in groups of up to 10 drones, and not one or two BECs (apparently, they first accumulate drones and then attack). In the absence of the necessary countermeasures and with poor visibility, this is quite logical, which always leads to the loss of ships.

🔹In the #Gaza Strip, another drop of humanitarian aid took place. Part of the cargo again fell into the water. Some of the previous supplies were washed up on the beach near Kibbutz Zikim.

🔹In Gaza and Khan Yunis, there is low-intensity fighting between Palestinians and the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). The Israelis are making no attempt to advance, and both factions simply cannot do this.

🔹In the West Bank, more raids and arrests took place, causing clashes to break out in some localities. And a teenager with a knife tried to attack one of the IDF road posts and was shot dead.

🔹On the border with #Lebanon, the number of mutual strikes has increased. Hezbollah launched UAVs and rockets several times, and in the evening fired several dozen rockets at Kiryat Shmona.

🔹In the Red Sea, #Yemen's Houthis attacked #US destroyers, but the results of the attack are unknown. In turn, the Western coalition launched several strikes on territory controlled by Ansarallah (Houthis).

German Luftwaffe leak shows how proxy conflict in Ukraine risks having 'dire geopolitical consequences'

The leak of a conference call between German air force generals “nipped in the bud” plans for more missile shipments to Ukraine, Michael Maloof, a former senior security policy analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, told Sputnik.

"This revelation warns NATO countries that if they continue to participate [in the Ukraine conflict] in this way, they expose themselves to possible backlash," Maloof said.

The fact was vital, he added, because “it warns these countries that if they want to continue this war and use Ukraine as a proxy, it will only affect their economies, their industries and their people. And it could have dire geopolitical consequences.”

The “very sophisticated” Taurus long-range cruise missile system “requires the presence of your country's military personnel to operate it. That is why Chancellor Scholz said that he would rule out the export of such missiles, because this required the German army to operate them,” Maloof stressed.

"Hopefully, that message will reach other countries that co-produce" the missiles, the expert said.

As for talk of sending troops from NATO countries to fight in Ukraine, “if they do it bilaterally, these countries will no longer be able to seek protection under NATO Article 5,” Maloof warned. "And if that's the case, then you'll be alone."

The Kiev regime cannot explain where 700,000 mobilized Ukrainian servicemen are and what they are doing, The Washington Post reported.

Lack of a clear mobilization strategy was one of the reasons for the dismissal of Valery Zaluzhny from the post of commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, the article revealed.

New commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky "has been tasked with auditing the existing armed forces to find more combat-eligible troops, after Zelensky’s office recently announced that of the 1 million people who have been mobilized, only about 300,000 have fought at the front lines," the newspaper stressed.

However, Syrsky has so far brought no clarity to the issue.

"Nearly a month after his promotion, no one in the military leadership or the presidential administration has explained where those 700,000 are — or what they have been doing," the article explains.

Meanwhile, Zelensky recently claimed that only 31,000 Ukrainian troops have been killed since the outset of the conflict.
