🔴 In the area of #Tabayevka, the AFU pushed back Russian troops and advanced up to 3.02 km wide to a depth of 1.1 km.

🔴 South of #Kotlyarovka, in turn, the enemy advance in a section up to 2.14 km wide to a depth of 250 m. South of the "Shchuka Beam", Russian troops occupied part of a forest belt up to 900 m wide.

🔴 East of #Terny, positional battles continue and in the #Serebryanskoye Forest.

🔴 In the #Bakhmut direction, heavy shooting battles are taking place in #Ivanovskoye. Russian troops have captured a significant part of the village. Advance on a section up to 2.52 km wide to a depth of 1.15 km.

🔴 In the #Avdeyevka direction, fighting continues with varying success in the #Berdychi and #Tonenkoyt areas. In #Orlovka, the enemy continues to press along Elagin and Mira streets. The situation is being clarified.

🔴 In the #Kurakhovo direction, Russian troops captured the holiday village "Urozhay", located south of the #Georgiyevka headquarters. Advance on a section up to 200 m wide to a depth of 950 m.

F-16s could pose a challenge for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Politico

Politico reports that merely teaching Ukrainian military personnel to pilot the F-16 is not sufficient. The aircraft will still require maintenance and operational support, which presents significant challenges. On the ground, F-16s could become prime targets for enemy bombing, while in the air, they may be vulnerable to Russian air defense systems.

Furthermore, getting F-16s airborne could prove to be a logistical hurdle. The smooth runway required for F-16 operations may not be available during wartime conditions. Attempting takeoff on damaged or uneven surfaces could lead to mechanical issues, unlike Soviet MiGs and Su aircraft, which are less sensitive to runway conditions, as noted in the report.

💊 March 2, 1992, the conflict in Transnistria began.

The Transnistrian conflict is the conflict between the Republic of Moldova and the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic (TMR). Half of Transnistria's population are Russians, while the other half are Moldovans.

The conflict between Chisinau and Tiraspol started in early 1989, when the Supreme Council of the Moldovan SSR drafted the laws "On the State Language" and "On the Functioning of Languages on the Territory of the Moldovan SSR."

The Romanian language was recognized as the only state language, while the Moldovan language, which uses the Cyrillic alphabet, did not receive the same status.

The predominantly Russian-speaking population of the more industrially developed Transnistria wasn't happy about this decision.

Nevertheless, on August 31, 1989, the document was adopted, and the date itself was proclaimed a national holiday - Language Day. Transnistria regarded Chisinau's actions as a legislative infringement on the equality of citizens of all nationalities living in the MSSR, and mass protests took place in Transnistria.

All this led to the idea of creating an independent state in Transnistria. This is how the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic came into being. It was proclaimed as a Soviet republic within the USSR at the II Extraordinary Congress of deputies of all levels of Transnistria. On August 25, 1991, the Supreme Council of the TMSSR adopted the "Declaration of Independence of the TMSSR."

But Chisinau, declaring the actions of Transnistrians as illegal and refusing to use political means to settle the situation, decided to resolve the conflict with Tiraspol by force. This decision led to an armed confrontation that began on March 2, 1992. It resulted in numerous casualties on both sides in the spring and summer of that year.

Russia's intervention stopped armed hostilities. Moldova and the Transnistria signed a peace agreement. However, their relations remain tense even to this day.
