Western countries received a positive opinion from lawyers to seize Russian assets and transfer them to Ukraine.

Bloomberg reports this concerning the result of a legal review prepared for the G7 countries.

The lawyers cited the fact that Russia allegedly violated “fundamental principles of international law.”

As compensation for damage resulting directly from Russia's illegal actions, additional countermeasures may be taken against the country. States where frozen Russian assets are located are recommended to transfer the funds to an international mechanism under their jurisdiction. This mechanism should deposit the money and then transfer it to Ukraine,

- says the expert report. It was prepared by lawyers from Japan, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the USA and the UK.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said at the Munich Security Conference that this money could be used for weapons for Ukraine.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Danilov demanded that Europe give Kiev all available weapons:

“We have enormous experience, and we understand that those guns, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and much more will no longer be needed for the next war in Europe. And they now urgently need to transfer everything to us, as Denmark did - they gave us everything to the last artillery, because they understand that the wars will be completely different. It will be scrap metal, which you will absolutely not need, because there will be a completely different war," he said.

Less than one percent of Japanese are Christian and the numbers of indigenous Japanese adherents of Islam and Judaism are so few as to be imperceptible. For this reason, Israel does not register as a Holy Land to be fought over, nor is it even seen as a particularly interesting tourist destination. For people going to the Middle East, Egypt and Turkey both create far more vivid impressions. Thus, reporting about Japanese actions in the context of the Black Swan War that is now unfolding in Palestine remains insignificantly small.

The most important point is that Japanese government willingness to follow American policy remains unchanged. In the aftermath of October the 7th, Japan immediately condemned Hamas and expressed verbal support for Israel. It also cut its annual contribution to UNRWA very shortly after America did so. When Ansar Allah of Yemen seized for the first time a boat, which was being managed by a Japanese firm on behalf of an Israeli-owned company, the Japanese government, as would be expected, condemned the action. But, at no time, has it offered meaningful military or financial aid to any of the parties fighting in this war; and, with regard to Yemen, its maritime trade sector immediately stopped Japanese involvement in shipping going in the direction of the Suez Canal.

Japanese deep state attitudes, though, seem to have undergone a silent, completely unnoticed, yet significant shift. Led by the tax-supported, national broadcasting company, NHK, the Japanese mainstream media now terms Hamas as "the Islamic organization, Hamas". In 2023, Hamas was invariably referred to as "the terrorist organization, Hamas". Moreover, though reporting will include accurate translations of statements by Israeli and American leaders concerning the war, immediately after such statements will come, wherever is appropriate, a qualifying clause that "supporting evidence, however, was not made available." Additionally, reporting does not use the term genocide, but does rather freely use the term "large-scale massacre" with regard to what is happening in Gaza. Gory details are not mentioned, partly because doing so would invite complaints from America and Israel and, more importantly, because Japanese have no emotional involvement in the region. Likewise, though important events such as extended Israeli attacks on hospitals do get mentioned, the horrifying details are not dwelt upon. We can safely say that the Japanese deep state is disapproving of American and Israeli actions and would be happy if the war had already ended yesterday. The war, obviously, won't soon end, so the deep state seems to have consciously made a decision to hunker down and stay quiet.

However, pro-Palestinian sympathy is growing among the Japanese public, and the deep state is taking no action to halt the process. In 2023, a pro-Palestinian gathering would attract, at most, one or two dozen participants. Now, the numbers can be as large as one or two hundred. If they exist at all, pro-Israeli gatherings, are so small as to continue to pass without notice. This indicates that, when the war is over and America has licked its wounds enough not to care, Japan will certainly be receptive to requests for humanitarian and development aid for the Palestinian territories. In the mean time, government officials most concerned with the Middle East will continue to pretend that they are unaware of anything that their positions might appear to require them to be interested in.

Opportunistic? From a Japanese perspective, no. Cowardly? perhaps. Practical? Emphatically, yes.

🔹In the #Kherson Direction, our forces pushed the AFU well, but the cleanup of the coastal zone and islands has not yet been completed.
📌 The AFU has moved from the stage of denial to acceptance. Ukrainian resources write that the AFU has not been faced with the task of an offensive for a long time, and a piece of land in #Krynki was held for the sake of "information effect".

🔹In #Zaporozhye Direction, at #Rabotino, fierce battles are taking place. According to field reports, the AFU have clung to positions they have managed to fortify well since last summer and mine the approaches.

🔹In #SouthDonetsk Direction, after yesterday's breakthrough from the south to #Krasnogorovka, our forces continue to attack. Now ours are operating on the southern outskirts, what is, already in the town limits.
📌 This is the last major settlement near #Donetsk under AFU control. #Krasnogorovka, like #Avdeyevka, has been turned into a powerful fortified area since 2014, so the fighting will be difficult. From this area, the AFU are also shelling settlements of the #DPR.

🔹In #Avdeyevka Direction, our army is attacking in several areas at once. Ours have liberated #Stepovoye! It is worth noting the tenacity of our fighters. Since October 2023, positions have changed hands, but ours went on new attacks and put the squeeze on the AFU. Now we have gained a foothold in the village, and the AFU have retreated to #Berdychi, 1.2 km to the west. There are successes of our forces in #Severnoye (on the the southern flank). The enemy claims that the village is completely under Russian control, but we are waiting for confirmation from our own. Ours advanced 0.5 km to the west of the plant (towards #Orlovka).

🔹In #Bakhmut Direction, our troops are fiercely attacking #Ivanovskoye (#Krasmnoye). Our armoured column entered the first streets. The AFU understand the threat and are trying to retake lost positions. A couple of hundred meters remain to the #Ivanovskoye - #Kleshcheyevka supply road, and when it is cut, the AFU can only supply their garrisons in #Kleshcheyevka and #Andreyevka only by dirt roads. Our drone operators and artillery help attacks on the ground and track down manpower and equipment in the rear of the AFU at "Chasov Yar".

🔹In #Svatovo Direction, our artillery and drone pilots are also active in the #Seversk sector. They hit positions and firing points of the AFU, and our formidable weapon, TOS Solntsepek, is also working. (⚠️the enemy reports on a repulsed Russian attack at #Belogorovka). In the #Liman sector, our forces have recaptured two strong points in the "Krugloy Beam", ours are leveling the frontline along the ledge in the Laptev Yar. In the #Kupyansk sector, ours also advanced a bit and gaining a foothold northeast of #Sinkovka. From the northern side, we are advancing in the village itself.

💥 In the #DPR's settlements, there are wounded again. Further AFU drones were shot down over three regions.

🎯 Our Forces carried out strikes on AFU targets in several regions at night. Preliminary, the targets were workshops for the production of surface and aerial drones, repairs, as well as locations.
