The extent of the damage remains in question. The photographs distributed on the Internet date back to previous years, and in some cases are not even related to Syria.
๐ปNevertheless, US President Joe Biden interrupted his press conference and went to the situation room, where he is currently holding a meeting with the Secretary of Defense and National Security Advisor.
Given the growing escalation, symbolic strikes by the US Armed Forces against the positions of pro-Iranian forces in Syria and Iraq are quite possible, as happened in 2017 and 2018, when the Americans used Tomahawk sea-based cruise missiles.

Last night, the Israel Defense Forces carried out one of the most powerful attacks in the Gaza Strip: dozens of civilian objects were damaged, including residential buildings, a mosque and buildings near two hospitals. According to the local Ministry of Health, more than 430 people died, including 182 children.
The third convoy with humanitarian aid has already entered the territory of the enclave through the Rafah checkpoint. At the same time, Israeli authorities continue to prevent fuel from entering the Gaza Strip, affecting the work of hospitals, desalination plants and power plants.
According to some reports, the parties have entered into negotiations on the release of 50 hostages with dual citizenship and foreigners by Hamas. Currently we know of the return of two prisoners thanks to the mediation of Egypt and Qatar. It is possible that the militants will request fuel supplies in exchange for them.

โช๏ธ In the #Kherson direction, reports of forced evacuation of the population from the AFU-controlled coast from #Kherson to Zolotaya Balka ( northeast of the region, near the #Dnieper). The enemy holds part of the #Krynki settlement and brings personnel by boat. Enemy presence at the #Antonovsky Bridge. Yesterday, an enemy SRG was destroyed near the Railway Bridge.
โช๏ธ On the #Zaporozhye front, several enemy armoured vehicles were destroyed near #Rabotino - #Novoprokopovka, here the enemy attacked several times, but did not succeed. Fighting continues near #Verbovoye. The enemy does not reduce the intensity of artillery fire, yesterday all day long our troops repelled the AFU's incursions. Footage of the work of the TOS "Solntsepek" in the direction is circulating in the network.
โช๏ธ In the #Avdeyevka direction there is heavy fighting. Our offensive continues. The enemy channels are forced to admit the loss of the (slag) heap in the northwest of #Avdeyevka. On the southern flank, the enemy tried to attack near #Opytnoye and #Peski.

An AFU UAV was shot down in the Yakovlevsky urban district. In #Donetsk, a civilian was killed and three civilians were wounded by AFU fire.

The Russian Armed Forces deliver around 10-15,000 tons of ammunition and fuel to the special operations zone per day, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in a conversation with members of the Federation Council.
At the invitation of Shoigu, the President of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and the Committee of the Federation Council for Defense and Security visited the Ministry of Defense of Russia. The minister drew the attention of the senators to the scope of tasks solved by the Armed Forces of Russia during a special military operation.
"To understand the scale, every day we supply the Armed Forces with 1,500 tons of water - that's just drinking water. We wash about 350 tons of laundry a day. You have to understand that this is not done in one place, but on a huge front line, more than 1,000 long kilometers", emphasized Shoigu.
He said that all this, of course, must be managed. About 10,000 and sometimes 15,000 tons of various types of materials are delivered daily. "These are ammunition, fuel. Everything related to repair and maintenance of equipment," he added.

๐ Considering synthetic graphite's importance in electronics and its interconnectedness with both civilian and defense sectors, these newly imposed restrictions could potentially send ripples through global manufacturing.

Matt Stoller, the author of this, is arguably the most important writer in America about monopolies and government policy. Here he looks at how and why, at least in part for bureaucratic reasons, the Pentagon is unable to get the weapons supplies it needs.
โญ๏ธ For example, there are about 400 Mergers & Acquisitions in the defense industry in America every year (actually, that's a DoD guestimate, they really don't know how many) and there are only 2 people looking at this. They honestly don't know who owns the companies that make up the American defense industry!
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ What Stoller doesn't address is whether the lack of oversight is a feature or a bug๐คฃ

Between "Afghanistan and Iraq were not mistakes" neocons, "Libya was not a mistake" neoliberals, a "sexual identity politics are the most important thing for fighting a war" military culture, "I want to understand white rage and get my Raytheon check" leadership, a monopolized "gouge more, deliver less" military industrial complex, and "we hate all those who have traditionally signed up to fight" progressives, we are screwed. Then again, who would seriously consider joining the military when it is a clown show like this? I have met way too many old vets who have told their children not to follow in their footsteps.

โช๏ธ The enemy's losses have reached significant figures. Now formations of the Territorial Defence and 40th Artillery Brigade are mining the approaches to the frontlines in order to complicate the advance of the Russian Army.
โ๏ธNevertheless, the position of the AFU in the command of the #Kupyansk grouping is recognised as critical. To strengthen the frontlines in anticipation of a new phase of the Russian AFU offensive, the transfer of reinforcements has begun.
โช๏ธ From #Soledar direction and from #Zhitomir region unidentified AFU units have been sent to #Kupyansk. ๐น Fighting continues around the #Avdeyevka fortified area. After clearing the #Slagheap, Russian fighters moved to defence and consolidation on the occupied areas, and the enemy on the contrary pulled reinforcements for counterattack.
โช๏ธ Due to heavy losses, at least one Battalion of the AFU's 47th Mechanized Brigade was transferred from the #Orekhov section to #Ocheretino and #Novobakhmutovka. The AFU tried to attack the positions near the #Slagheap, but without success.
โช๏ธ Similar enemy counterattacks were from the direction of the Coke Plant in #Avdeyevka, as well as at #Opytnoye and in #Pervomayskoye. Ukrainian formations intended to occupy the grey zone, but Russian artillery strikes forced them back to their initial positions.
โ๏ธ Russian aviation and artillery continue to work on the enemy's lines. The losses of the AFU are growing: according to sources, during a week of active fighting, the number of killed AFU troops alone exceeded 1,000 militants and 60 pieces of equipment.
๐ There are also losses on our side, but thanks to the tactic of total destruction of the fortified area and the subsequent clearing of the terrain, our command has managed to reduce their number to a minimum.

10% of worldโs card payments are made in Russia
Banks from the global top 150 accepted a total of 466.8bn transactions last year, up 12.1% from 2021, according to the Nilson Report company.
Interestingly, this list includes seven Russian banks: Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Alfa Bank, Russian Standard, Tinkoff, and Promsvyazbank.
The total number of transactions processed by them totaled 47.7bn. This is up 9.6% from 2021 (43.5bn transactions processed).
Their share in the global top 150 in 2022 was 10.2%.
This indicator slightly decreased by 0.2 percentage points in 2022, as in 2021 it was about 10.4%.
So can we just take a moment and appreciate: Visa and Mastercard have left Russia in 2022 and that has affected Russian card payments in about... nothing.
