Parallelism is an important element in English writing, especially when you are listing and comparing and contrasting items or ideas. Parallelism means that each item in a list or comparison follows the same grammatical pattern. If you are writing a list and the first item in your list is a noun, write all the following items as nouns also. If the first item is an -ing word, make all the others -ing words; if it is an adverb clause, make all the others adverb clauses.

โ๏ธ๐ Airplanes are amazing. How 1-.... something so big and heavy 2-..... the ground? Iโm always amazed at how the millions of different parts work together. Travelling by airplane is always 3-..... experience. I donโt care 4-..... economy class is 5-..... and has no space. I like playing with the 6-...... entertainment system, especially now they have all the 7-.... movies. I also love airplane food. Many of my friends say itโs 8-..... , but I love it. I often ask the passenger next to me if I can have the 9-........ they donโt want. The only thing I donโt like about planes is 10-...... . When the airplane hits those air pockets, I always worry weโll crash. But I once read that 10-...... has never caused an airplane to crash.
