🔤As opposed to creating an imposing edifice, the building gradually steps up from the approach direction, belying its 28 metre height.

The built form evokes images of stepped wells, which have existed in India for 1100 years, and which were spaces built not just to store water, but also as large social interaction spaces to bring the community together. The Prestige University imbues this principle, becoming a stage for fostering social interaction and events. #context@simoderna

The entire terrace of the five-level building is accessible to the students and faculty of the university, transforming it into an open auditorium amidst the landscape. Some of these platforms are wheelchair accessible.

🔤The Hotel Puerta América is a space that invites people to dream. A project that has brought together nineteen of the best architect and designer studios most popular of which are Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel and David Chipperfield.

An idea of freedom come true, a gathering space merging different cultures and ways of interpreting architecture and design. A masterpiece that awakens guests’ senses, that breaks the mould by using different colours, materials and shapes.

Just pressing the button in the elevator transports you to completely different worlds and ways of perceiving architecture.
All selected received the same area with precise room dimensions, the same amount of money, and complete freedom.

🔤The monumental abstract form of the front wall made of local oak separates reality from fantasy. Passing through, the audience will move from natural landscape to the realm of performing arts.

This wall made of wedged CNC milled solid planks is not only a disguised theatrical effect but also improves the acoustics of the foyer. The infinite blackness of the other three facades emphasizes the spectacle of the foyer.

🔤While designing the Baha’i House of Worship for India — a Temple dedicated to the Oneness of Religions, in which peoples of all backgrounds are welcome – architect Fariborz Sahba was inspired to use the lotus flower as the basis for his creation.

He chose it as a symbol for the Bahá’í belief in the potential purity of the human spirit; he chose it as a metaphor for the truth that out of the “murky waters” of our collective history of ignorance and violence we will arise to create a new age of peace and universal brotherhood.

🔤Echoing the natural forms of the project’s valley setting, the undulating structure rises like a gently sloping hillside before puncturing the ground to allow natural light to pour deep into the basement retail zones.

The team devised a pergola-like system scaled up to district proportions to organise and unify many different elements of various sizes. In this way, the design allows for significant green space both at ground level and climbing up the podium buildings, without sacrificing connectivity to the ground. #greenery@simoderna

It is a new kind of district in the city, made for people and filled with greenery – “a place,” says Thomas Heatherwick “to be cherished.”
