🔤Linked at the 57th floor by an expansive and lush garden skypark, the Marina Bay Sands Hotel represents a new urban typology characterized by its interconnectedness, both at the ground level and in the sky.

The hotel is designed to align with the URA's long-term planning objective to complete the ring of development around the Marina Bay water basin. Working with the URA guidelines, the building is set back from the waterfront edge and visually porous so as to open views from the CBD to the Singapore Strait beyond. At street level, the design includes a grand, connecting atrium lobby which extends the city's public pedestrian network (google street).

The SkyPark is a shaped structure constructed of spanning steel bridges hovering over the concrete towers below. It includes gardens, restaurants, a one of a kind infinity edge pool, and a public observation deck. It spans from tower to tower and cantilevers 65 meters (213 feet) beyond to form one of the world’s largest public cantilevers. #cantilever.

The 1,396 square meter swimming pool is the largest outdoor pool at its height. #record

🔤Chandigarh was one of India's first planned cities, and was Le Corbusier's largest project. He was commissioned to design the masterplan in the early 1950s, after being approved by Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister. The city was to serve as the new independent Indian government's regional capital in Punjab, after the previous capital, Lahore, became part of Pakistan.

The architect was disappointed by the local authorities' decision to categorize housing by income level, which contradicted his vision of high-rise residential complexes. So The Capitol Complex, designed by Le Corbusier, was isolated from the city by artificial hills, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the project.

For the forms of the buildings themselves, Le Corbusier applied a combination of traditional Classical features and Indian design innovations, all simplified and realized in concrete.

🔤The Bodegas and Bebidas Group wanted a building that would be an icon for its prestigeous new wine 'la Rioja Alavesa' and at the same time accomodate the precise and rigorous program of spaces needed to brew, store and sell wine.

The aluminum roof paneling creates a material contrast to the warm wood of the facade. The effect of sunlight accentuates the roof volume creating a kinetic effect in contrast to the calm background of the vineyard.

🔤The stations’ architectonic theme stems from the dearth of natural light underground: the eternal night. The luminous ultramarine blue deployed for the two vaulted tunnels containing the platforms is dotted with 6662 point-sources of light, evoking the star-studded firmament and echoing Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s 1816 stage design for The Magic Flute.

Due to its direct proximity to cultural sites such as the Staatsoper, the German Historical Museum, the Berlin Cathedral and the Humboldt Forum in the New Palace, the underground station is considered a "cultural station".

🔤Tsuruoka Cultural hall is a multipurpose hall that serves as a base for cultural and artistic activities in the region. The surrounding site is characterised by its abundant nature, and is located in a cultural precinct of ​​the city filled with historic buildings, universities and galleries. A building was sought to expand local civic activities, while incorporating the old cultural hall which has been the heart of cultural activities to the students and local arts groups.

As a "hall for the community" where citizens become participants, observers and actors, we proposed a large hall wrapped by a corridor, resembling traditional Japanese ‘Saya-do’ construction. The exterior of the building looks like an assembly of many small roofs. Each small roof become lower towards the perimeter of the building, and it becomes as low as a one story building along the road. By controlling the volume in this way, we sought to make a building that is in harmony with the adjacent historic building and the surrounding cityscape. #context
