🔤RCC is one of the world’s leading producers of copper and the triangulated form draws inspiration from the chemical structure of copper. The crown of the building integrates RCC’s new logo – a rebranding which has, in turn, been inspired by the architecture.

Very textured facade of a distinctly copper color, solved in the form of a crystal lattice. On the one hand, such a cover, of course, very clearly and directly refers to the main type of activity of the company, but its role is not limited to metaphor. At the same time, it is also an important part of the building's climate concept.

The pyramid-shaped "crystals" that form the facade consist of four triangular faces, two of which are made of metal and two of which are made of glass. Transparent and opaque segments are combined in different order depending on which side of the world a particular module is facing: its glass faces catch sunlight, focusing on the mostly low sun in these latitudes, while the upper metal "hoods" protect the interior from overheating during those short weeks of the year when it rises high over the horizon and really hot.

And – a few words about why the facades, designed to symbolize belonging to the copper mining industry, are not made of copper. Probably only lazy did not joke about this, but for both Foster + Partners and RMK in this matter, considerations of expediency and manufacturability were in the first place – copper facades are not only an order of magnitude more difficult and more expensive to produce, but also unpredictably capricious in operation and especially in interaction with the environment.

🔤Special attention was paid to the integration of the structure into the grand landscape of Bordeaux. The meticulous geometrical arrangement of bowl structure and columns reflects the pattern created by trees and paths in the surrounding landscape. This stadium is made for this specific place – an open, flat landscape.

This architectural concept gives a specific identity to the Bordeaux stadium. The diaphanous volume opens up to the surrounding landscape while the grand stairs express openness and accessibility for everyone. Its transparency reveals all the energy and activities that transform this piece of land into a vibrant part of Bordeaux.

🔤The design responds to the setting of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, evoking the tradition of 19th-century glass garden buildings, the role of the Jardin in cultural memory and the desire to create a contemporary art museum that will be attractive and welcoming to the children and families who frequent the Jardin.

Constructed on the edge of a water garden created especially for the project, the building comprises an assemblage of white blocks (known as “the icebergs”) clad in panels of fiber-reinforced concrete, surrounded by twelve immense #glass “sails” supported by wooden beams. The sails give Fondation Louis Vuitton its transparency and sense of movement, while allowing the building to reflect the water, woods and garden and continually change with the light.

In 2011, an association for safeguarding won a court battle because the judge ruled that the center argued against the new building alter the “Green Peace” Historical Park. The city appealed the court’s decision and the renowned French architect

Jean Nouvel backed Gehry, responding to opponents: “… with her ​​small, tight outfits is pretty pathetic that they want to put Paris in formaldehyde…”.

🔤Like pebbles in a stream smoothed by erosion, the Guangzhou Opera House sits in perfect harmony with its riverside location. Its unique twin-boulder design enhances the city by opening it to the Pearl River.

The design evolved from the concepts of a natural landscape and the fascinating interplay between architecture and nature; engaging with the principles of erosion, geology and topography. The Guangzhou Opera House design has been particularly influenced by river valleys – and the way in which they are transformed by erosion.

Custom moulded glass-fibre reinforced gypsum (GFRC) units have been used for the interior of the auditorium to continue the architectural language of fluidity and seamlessness. #interior

🔤The Abrahamic Family House is a collection of three religious spaces: a mosque, a church, and a synagogue—all of which will sit upon a fourth secular space consisting of a Forum and raised garden. The house will serve as a community for interfaith dialogue and exchange, nurturing the values of peaceful co-existence and acceptance among different beliefs, nationalities, and cultures.

The form is translated from the three faiths, carefully using the lens to define what is similar, as opposed to what is different.

The Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque is oriented towards Mecca. Light filters through the delicate GRP latticework of the mashrabiya screens, which circulate air while maintaining privacy. Four seamless, monolithic columns represent the Islamic notions of stability, order, and fullness and create a vaulting space that orients the visitors toward the mihrab.

The St. Francis Church is oriented towards the rising sun in the East. From the courtyard, two uneven columns suspend above the entrance symbolizing the testing of faith. Inspired by the altar of St Peter’s Basilica, a canopy of linear timber elements cascades down from the ceiling in a “shower of ecstatic redemption.”

The Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue is oriented towards Jerusalem. A series of three V-shaped columns amass to create a screen between the interior and exterior, referencing the overlapping layers of palm fronds on the sukkah—a structure used during Sukkot, the Jewish festival of shelter. A bronze mesh tent—symbolizing the original tabernacle— cascades from a skylight in the ceiling and drapes over the congregation.
