Last month we did *not* receive any complaints about Pokemon Go meetups in cities around the world. Great work, all! Remember if your meetup swells in size, consider: a) applying for a permit, b) splitting into multiple smaller meetups, or c) holding a "moving" meetup over an area, rather than setting up at one park. And remember to leave the meetup spot as clean or cleaner than when you found it!

The dust is settling on our June event! That means it's time for our traditional apologies for server scaling issues. 🔥
...oh wait! NOT THIS TIME. We had ZERO down time for the first time, ever! And the load was no lighter - this weekend was (once again) our largest global participation ever and our most intense traffic spikes yet! But the dark ages of server lag are behind us - it's smooth sailing from here! ⛵️
Important Updates:
1. Check-ins are now officially CLOSED. - 'Retro Check-ins' are enabled for June's Meetups for a limited time. (Remember - Retro-checkins are for verified in-person attendees at your meetup only.)
2. How 'Bout That App! - We were beyond eager to get our app update out this weekend and made it by the skin of our teeth. Awesome things are heading to the app soon. (Oh, and we hope you like the new look!)
Thank you to all our alpha testers - we've appreciated the bug reports and feedback. Patches are coming soon for most of the common glitches, but let us know how you liked it and keep the feedback it coming!

One big change going forward is communities in the Silph League will be able to integrate trading meetups into the app to help provide a safer trading avenue in your city. We'll have more info (and a few rolling updates) through the week in anticipation of the app hitting the app store.
No need to keep the Silph Road app a secret to your communities moving forward. We look forward to helping create an awesome tool for trading together with you all!

That means, no fancy check-in instructions. Your staff can check folks in like usual using your choice of the website or mobile app.
Speaking of the app: An app update will be rolling out in a few hours to Android and our iOS public beta members (which is everyone with the app!) which will enable checkin functionality for all staff on the mobile app. Does your staff still not have the app? Similar to Chikorita, Cyndaquil may not have as large of a pull/'wow factor' as past Community Day species, but with the recent launch of Gen 4 species, we hope interest will remain high for your meetup regardless! Niantic didn't give us much time to prepare for this December Community Day Weekend, but we've (finally) finalized the official League Badge for December! Seeing as it's a special Community Day, we made sure this badge offered something special of its own. Announcing the Holiday 2018 Badge! This badge is ready for download on the assets site and features all 11 of the Jan-Nov Community Day shinies arrayed in a rainbow of color! ... In a special edition snowflake badge frame!
