JAC members wrote articles, spoke on the radio, published newspapers and magazines, organized rallies and concerts. The committee established connections with Jewish organizations in the USA, Great Britain and other countries, involving them in the anti-fascist struggle and assistance to the Soviet Union.

The head of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee was Solomon Mikhoels, a famous Jewish actor and theater director, artistic director of the Moscow State Jewish Theater. Solomon Mikhoels enjoyed great authority both among the Jewish population and among the Soviet leadership, which contributed to the successful activities of the committee.

Despite all the help that the JAC provided to the Soviet people, at the beginning of 1948 Solomon Mikhoels was killed on the personal order of Stalin (Memo from L.P.
