Context: A team of developers made a new IDE entirely utilizing a GPU accelerated graphics library they developed from scratch. Their motivation was to create an IDE that could render text at 120+ FPS. This is something that is impossible for any existing IDE since all existing options render everything in software. It just surreptitiously utilizes a 3d pipeline, so doing effects like this is trivial.
