⌯⌲ I celebrated every month until month 12. The remaining 4 months have been questionable.

⌯⌲ Unlocked every government office. Why? my parents believe I'm a lawyer at heart. (I’m actually a cat with WiFi.)

⌯⌲ I still reply with "Ethiopia", when someone asks "where are you from?" I learned it mean the city you come from or your ethnicity.

⌯⌲ People speak in shortcuts. By the time I decode the sentence, the conversation has already ended.

⌯⌲ I read Amharic based on vibes, not pronunciation.

⌯⌲ Businesses say yes to everyone, got scammed that hair salon is only-women. Plot twist? The hair stylist was a man. WHY WOULD A MAN BE THERE? WHY?

⌯⌲ Learned that marriage is apparently a small talk topic here. Like weather updates.

⌯⌲ The marriage propaganda caught me off guard because Saudi after 2019 was NOT like this. Here, you breathe near someone and aunties uncles start planning the wedding.

⌯⌲ People here are unbelievably generous. One man offered to pay for taxi because I asked if the destination was walkable. I was concerned with my step count.

⌯⌲ I used to get offended when people called me out of touch. Now I realize… they were being nice.

⌯⌲ Empty roads in Ethiopia are empty for a reason, not for you to hit your step goal.
