We are having coffee at my besties house ☕️

If I yap about this girl, it wouldn’t be enough to describe how she inspires me since 7th grade.

I usually used to be the only Ethiopian in schools. It’s very overwhelming to be an African minority in an international school, I had to fight to be seen as an equal.

I had a teacher tell me to my face that she thought I was stupid JUST because I was African until she saw my grades 🤨.

She ended it that wild sentence with “well done..”

I have a lot of wilder stories. But let’s jump to the good part.

Then Luwam came and was the most on brand Ethiopian I have ever seen with her work ethic.

Straight A*, head girl of the school, good at sports, public speaking, writing and she still had the time to be a good friend.

What makes everything I listed outstandingly impressive that she did all that while working a full-time tutoring job to pay for hers and her sister’s school fees to help her single mom.

She did this in 7th grade!!
