📈 REIT ETFs Reach Historic AUM Heights with Rising Trading Volumes

REIT tracking ETFs were first introduced in Singapore on 20 October 2016. Last week, their combined AUM hit a new record of S$917 million. Since the end of June, their daily turnover has reached S$4.6 million, marking an increase of nearly 60% from the first half of 2024 and a 200% rise from 2023.

🏢 Stock of the Week: Sinarmas Land (SGX: A26)

- At a market cap of S$1.1bn, Sinarmas Land (SML) is one of Indonesia's largest and most diversified property developers by land bank and market cap, also holding investments in commercial and hospitality assets globally outside of Indonesia.

- For 1H24, SML's revenue increased 28.1% to S$766.1m, and net profit grew 7.4% to S$199.3m, driven by higher sales. SML trades at a P/E of 4.1x. and ended 1H24 in a net cash position with cash & cash equivalents at S$1.5bn.

- BSD City is the flagship project of Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk, a business group under SML. On May 2024, BSD City was accorded a special economic zone (SEZ) status by the Indonesian Government, aiming to attract IDR 18.8 trillion in investments over the next 20 years.

Gulf Energy and Intouch, Advanced Info Service’s (AIS) largest shareholder, has proposed a merger to form a new listed entity – NewCo. Merger is expected to complete by Q2 2025. Impact of transaction:

• To receive special dividend S$0.14B and book accounting gain S$0.39B from the merger.
• Plans to participate in voluntary tender offer for AIS to raise stake by 10% to 36.7%.

• Improvements in revenues and profits with consolidation of telecom sector to a duopoly.

🏭 Manufacturing and Trade Show Signs of Improvement in August

Since 6 August, the iEdge SG Adv Manufacturing Index has rebounded 5%, recovering most of the declines in the first week of the month. The top-performing actively traded stocks in the iEdge SG Adv Manufacturing Index include SATS, UG Healthcare, Medtecs Intl, ThaiBev, and Willas-Array. SATS and ThaiBev were also among the three stocks of the Index that have booked the highest net institutional inflow for the month, along with ST Engineering.

- What is FOR? – It is a safeguard at the exchange level that alerts investors when orders entered exceed price thresholds.
- Why is SGX changing the DLC FOR? – To enhance investors’ experience with order placements and trade exits.
- How does this change affect me? – You can now set orders within a recalibrated price range that reduces the need for forced orders.

🦷 Stock of the Week: Q&M Dental (SGX: QC7)
 
- Q&M Dental Group is Singapore's largest dental healthcare group with over 100 dental clinics, with plans to explore opportunities in Singapore and Asia Pacific markets.
 
- The Group reported improved profitability with 1H24 profit after tax up 84% year-on-year (YoY) to S$9.8m with better margins and gains. Q&M announced an interim dividend of S$0.004 for 1H24, 150% higher YoY and representing a dividend payout ratio of 39%.
 
- Q&M Dental has a market cap of S$255.5m, and last closed at S$0.27.
