Description: To determine the effect of different types of higher dietary protein intakes on sleep quality and other health outcomes on Singaporean older adults

– 60 – 80 years old
– Not smoking
– Not taking anti-hypertensive/ cholesterol lowering/ type 2 diabetes medications OR have been taking these medications for more than 5 years
– Currently not enrolled in any other clinical studies

– Not eating a healthy diet

Is a Friend Closer Than a Neighbour? Measuring Social Engagement Content in Words - Study 2: "How Social is this Word?"

Description: Research participants are to rate a list of words from each category (e.g., PLACE, ACTION, and so on) according to their perceived social engagement.

Duration: Anticipated to be no more than 1 hour, Online survey

Requirements: Participants must be speakers of English as a first language, have normal or corrected-to-normal vision, and no speech or hearing disabilities. Participants from NUS must be 18 years old and above, whereas participants from the general public must be 21 years old and above.

Reward: $5 for every half-hour of participation. If more than an hour is required to complete the study, reimbursement will be capped at $10.

An Auditory Reality Study: Impact of age and hearing
by National University of Singapore (NUS)

Description: To explore the real-world listening experiences of experienced hearing aid users in Singapore and their exposure to sound levels in everyday living.

Duration: 8 Day Engagement, including 2 visits to NUS on Day 1 (Approx 1.5hour) and Day 8 (Approx. 30minutes), In-person survey

Requirements:
Inclusion criteria:
Singaporean or Singapore PR, either 18 - 30 or 65 - 79 years old
Existing hearing aid users, with regular daily usage (average 8 hours per day)
Not having any staycation, hospitalization plan or overseas trip during the participation period
Symmetrical hearing levels in both ears
Able to use phone apps independently

Exclusion criteria, apart from not meeting the inclusion criteria:
No experience with hearing aids
Not using hearing aids on a regular basis
Have profound hearing loss
Hearing loss only in one ear

During the 8 days, you need to:
Submit current listening experience through multiple surveys every day.
Wear a small lapel microphone for the purpose of logging ambient sound levels 24 hours daily for 1 week.
No audio, including conversations or any identifiable sounds, will be recorded during your participation

Reward: Up to S$160 upon completion
