NCASE M1 Build and fan configuration testing
Hi,
not the best time to upgrade your system, but I couldn't resist.I already made a preview post about my ASUS Strix 3090 deshroud, but I wanted to show a bit more of my now finished build. I also uploaded a video of the deshrouding process, just a mostly raw uncut version though.
Specs:

|CPU|AMD Ryzen 9 5900X|

|AiO Radiator Fan|2x Noctua A12x25|
|GPU Fan|2x Noctua A12x25|

Yes, the STRIX 3090 does not fit the NCASE M1. At least not without the use of a rotary tool.
But then it fits, no slim pci-e power connectors are necessary with a little cable managing.
even the front connectors are in place

I tested thermals with Fire Strike Ultra Graphics test 1 in a loop for at least 30 minutes with a period of roughly 5 minutes cool down afterwards. Logging was done with HWiNFO64. I set pump and CPU Radiator fans to a fixed RPM while changing the GPU fans in different fan configurations to match an 40db(A) noise level for comparison. Sadly the STRIX does not report RPM for the external fans, so for those only the % were logged.
Fire Strike Ultra settings for testing
Noise normalization to about 40db\(A\) from roughly 20cm
I tried the following configurations:
GPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Intake + CPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Intake
GPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Intake + CPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust
GPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust + CPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust
GPU 2x Noctua A14x25 Exhaust+ CPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust
I for some reason forgot to test GPU Exhaust and CPU Intake in this run, though I have tested it before and it didn't performe better than a full exhaust configuration.
As the GPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust + CPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust performed the best and furthermore the GPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Intake + CPU 2x Noctua A12x25 Exhaust crashed my system when I just closed Fire Strike due to an overheating of the motherboard and CPU, I didn't tested other configurations for the GPU 2x Noctua A14x25 than as Exhaust with the CPU also as Exhaust.
The Noctua A14x25 do not fit without grinding the fan's frame down on the inside where the ncase's mounting hardware for the side panel sits or removing said mounting brackets.
My custom profiles are fan curves for both CPU and GPU as well as an undervolt to

868mV at 1905Mhz Core Clock, +550Mhz RAM for the GPU.
Results, dT above ambient logged with a EVE Room
Thank you for reading, hope it helps, I'll try to answer any questions left unvoiced, but I won't take it apart for testing other configurations anymore, that whole process was a pain, thanks for your understanding!

Are there any slim 140mm case fans with 140mm mounting holes?
Preferably 15mm or below. I did find the Thermaltake Luna 14 Slim LED, but it seems to be discontinued for years

Best small Antennas on Amazon?
Have tried 2 different sets and they’ve both been absolutely terrible. I’m about 2 rooms away from my router. Using my motherboard antenna is perfectly fine but I want something small and out of sight. Any recommendations? Don’t mind spending extra for really good ones.

DAN A4 Build + 3950X
So finally most of my pain is over!

I put together this build as my personal rig for traveling, I really want to fit an EVGA 3070 which should fit, but will be awaiting the normal GPU pricing to return.

Managed to somehow fit 5 case fans in this, 2 of which are 120mm.

I strongly suggest printing the DAN case spacer from thingiverse, on the CPU side, allows about an extra 15mm, I think this will also be needed for the GPU side for most 30xx cards.

Stuff to revist:

Custom power cables. (I feel this caused generally so much pain in my build, but I wasn't able to find a supplier easily in the UK)
Reprint spacer with a few extra mm to stop the slight gap.
extend power button cable.
replace higher quality rise.

Black Ridge Compatibility w/ 120mm Fan Underneath
So I have an MSI B550i motherboard, and I am going to be moving from an SG13 to a Velka 7. I recently made the purchase of VLP RAM so I can put a 120mm fan under the heatsink because I want maximum airflow obviously, but will it work on my board? Has anyone tried it out? I definitely would have to take off the m.2 heatsink in the front, which is no problem, but I'm not sure if I would have to make any other changes.
Also, what boards do people know work with this configuration? In the case that I need to change motherboards, it would be good for me (and others) to know what does work.
On a different note, I would not mind changing this motherboard as I have had so many times where bluetooth capability just goes away, sometimes for a minute, other times for a day, which is obviously very annoying as I rely on bluetooth for my audio often.

I have been thinking to build an ITX build using CM NR200n case with 5950x and 3070 with MSI B550i Gaming edge WiFi mobo, I have been having hard time deciding about cooling, should I go with liquid cooling or air cooling, and which one?
Is 5950x + 3070 in a NR200N good choice for long term in terms of thermals.
My major purpose is of content creation ( 3d rendering + davinci Resolve) .

Flex ATX PSU for low powered 4bay NAS?
I'm currently getting the parts together to build a small 4 bay NAS that will go under my TV and work as a Plex media server. This means that the system needs to be as quiet as possible.
I'm looking at a 10liter case atm which supports flexatx PSUs. I've done a fair bit of research and it seems that every flex PSU out there is fairly loud. The most popular models (enhance, fsp and Silverstone) still seem to be fairly loud but most comments are related to using them along with a GPU in higher wattage consumption setups.
So my question is the following. Which flex ATX PSU would perform with minimal noise under very low wattage consumption (just a low end CPU and 4 HDDs)?
Wattage requirements for my setup will be minimal but from what I understand, something to be aware of is also the fan curve of these PSUs as it seems that sometimes fans operate regardless of wattage consumption.
I've had a thought of switching the fan of the PSU but if rather not go through the trouble of doing that.
