Pavel Durov is once again entering an open confrontation with government systems. And judging by his latest statement, this is no longer only about Telegram.

What we are witnessing now is a much deeper conflict: a battle over control of information, personal data, and the very concept of digital freedom.

Durov publicly supported Elon Musk and X after accusations from French authorities. In his statement, he essentially suggested that European governments are increasing pressure on independent tech platforms under the justification of “security,” “content control,” and “user protection.”

But if we look closely at the accusations, an interesting question appears.

Many of the claims against X:
- collection of personal data
- processing data without sufficient protection
- violation of communication privacy

are exactly the same issues that governments, tech corporations, privacy advocates, and journalists have been debating for years.

And this is where the situation becomes even more interesting.

Telegram, X, and other major platforms are no longer just communication apps. For millions of people, they have become full-scale media ecosystems, tools for shaping public opinion, and instruments of political influence.

Especially at a time when trust in traditional media continues to decline.

Some experts believe governments are trying to regain control over the digital space. Others argue that large technology platforms have accumulated too much influence and require stronger regulation.

But one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the conflict between governments and major digital platforms will continue to escalate.

And this is no longer only a story about Telegram, X, or Elon Musk.

It is a story about what the future of the internet, free speech, and control over data will look like in the years ahead.

Today I rode a professional road bike on a proper cycling track in Dubai for the first time.

I’d wanted to try it for a long time, but never really got around to it. Today I finally did - and honestly, the experience was much stronger than I expected.

We rode around 15 kilometers. During the ride my heart rate stayed around 155–160 BPM, so my body was definitely working in a completely new mode. But the most interesting part came after the ride. I sat down to rest for 5–10 minutes, my pulse slowly recovered, and suddenly I felt this incredible lightness in both my body and my mind.

It’s probably that moment when endorphins kick in after physical activity and your body switches into a natural recovery state. And you genuinely feel it.

What I also realized is that cycling is not about trying to go faster than everyone else. It’s about finding the right rhythm for your own body, health, breathing, and heart rate. That’s when it becomes not overload, but actually one of the healthiest and smartest forms of training.

And honestly, this is why I already enjoy it more than running, especially running on a treadmill. On a bike, the scenery constantly changes, you’re outside in fresh air, surrounded by people training and pushing themselves too - and that atmosphere is incredibly motivating.

After this first ride, I already know this won’t be my last one.

OPENAI MAY SUE APPLE:
A NEW ERA OF AI COMPETITION BEGINS

Just a few years ago, Apple looked like the company that completely controlled the technology market. But now the situation is starting to change.

According to Bloomberg and Financial Times, OpenAI is considering legal action against Apple after tensions surrounding the integration of ChatGPT into the iPhone ecosystem.

And if you look deeper, this is no longer just a story about one contract or another dispute between two corporations.

This is the beginning of a major battle for control over the future AI market.

After the Apple Intelligence presentation, many believed Apple and OpenAI were becoming strategic partners. But based on leaks and insider reports, OpenAI was reportedly unhappy with how Apple positioned ChatGPT inside its system.

At the same time, Apple also started negotiations with other AI companies:
Google Gemini,
Anthropic,
and several other players.

And this reveals the key point:
Apple does not want to depend on a single AI partner. Apple wants full control over the entire AI infrastructure inside the iPhone.

And that means massive money, influence, and access to hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

In my opinion, the most interesting part of this story is something else.

In the past, tech companies competed for devices, apps, and social media platforms. Today, a new era is beginning - a battle for user intelligence, user attention, and the very interface between humans and technology.

Whoever controls AI
• will control search
• recommendations
• advertising
• media
• shopping
• communication
• and, essentially, people’s digital lives

That’s why AI companies are no longer just startups. They are becoming new centers of global influence.

And honestly, I think this is only the beginning of a massive corporate war that we’ll be watching unfold over the next 5–10 years.

We won ❤️😎

Friends, today is one of those moments I will truly remember for a long time.

Papa Media became the winner of the Real Estate PR & Communications Agency of the Year award at the Gulf Business Real Estate Summit & Awards 2026 by Motivate Media Group.

For me personally, this is much bigger than an award or recognition.

Gulf Business is one of the most respected and influential business media platforms in the UAE and the GCC region, which makes this achievement even more meaningful for our entire team.

This moment represents years of consistency, risks, growth, challenges, partnerships, trust from clients, and a vision that we kept building step by step here in Dubai.

It has already been 11 years since Dubai became part of my life and journey. Today, this city truly feels like my second home. A place where dreams became projects, and projects became reality.

And what makes this moment even more special for me is the realization that in exactly three years I will celebrate 20 years of my journey in business and entrepreneurship.

So today feels like one of those important milestones on a very long road.

Thank you to our clients, partners, friends, team, community, and everyone who believed in us through all these years.

This victory belongs to all of us.

And honestly - we are only getting started.
