More than Sci-Hub
Several years ago the bot has been created as a handy replacement for Sci-Hub website aimed to active Telegram users.
Sci-Hub has a profound history of making science free and available and should be respected for its fights in the era of shadow libraries. Nevertheless it has been stuck in the last years. Nice idea has been compromised and usurped by the single person that had became too conceited and lost all technological skills required for maintaining such a beautiful project. Owners intolerance and stickiness to totalitarian ideas defiled every possible way to make Sci-Hub a real liberator for the science.
To make it clear, we are not Sci-Hub anymore. Sci-Hub became a hostage in improper hands. Elbakyan, the original creator, has failed to organize movement against copyright in science, she lost capabilities to trick paywalls, she failed to develop required tools for uploading new articles. Instead she succeed in banning users from different countries for various political and personal reasons.
Nexus database has more than 70000 extra articles in addition to Sci-Hub/LibGen ones. Recently, I've add the possibility to crawl Telegram groups for new papers. The bot has open sources and there is a plan to automatically upload every user article up to LibGen.
I hope one day this brook become a deep river filling our technological future.
