For sisters who are unable to fast due to menstruation or other valid reasons, don’t feel disheartened. Allah’s doors of reward remain open.

You can still make the most of these blessed days by increasing in dhikr, istighfar, du’a, reading beneficial Islamic knowledge, and giving charity.

One beautiful way is to provide food or drinks for those who are fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.”
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi)

May Allah accept our efforts, grant us abundant rewards, and allow us to benefit from the blessings of Muharram, whether we are fasting or not. 🤍

On Hari Asyura, ask الله for the impossible. Hari Asyura is not only just highly encouraged to fast on that day but to seek His Mercy, Forgiveness & Guidance, rizq, literally anything.

To Him, nothing is impossible 💙

Sometimes we want to make du’a, but we don’t know what to say. That’s okay. Allah knows what is in your heart even before you raise your hands. Sometimes, all you need to do is speak to Him sincerely and ask for guidance, strength, and steadfastness.

Here’s one of the du’as you can make for yourself,

Ya Allah, i am only a woman striving to become better, yet i fall short time and time again. I am far from perfect, but You are Ar-Rahman, the Most Merciful. So i ask You to grant me istiqamah and keep my heart firm upon Your religion. Help me to guard my aurah, beautify my character, watch over my speech, and preserve my dignity for Your sake.

Ya Allah, make me among the women who choose You even when it is difficult, who remain steadfast even when they stumble, and who continuously return to You no matter how many times they fall. Indeed, istiqamah is not easy, and that is why we ask You at least 17 times a day: “Guide us to the Straight Path” (Ihdinas Siratal-Mustaqim)

Ya Allah, do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye. Keep my heart attached to You, guide me when i am lost, strengthen me when i am weak, and allow me to meet You in a state that is pleasing to You. Aamiin. 🤍

Friday Sunnah Reminders 🤍📿

Jumu‘ah is the most blessed day of the week, honoured by Allah and described by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the best day.

Key Sunnahs of Friday:
1. Send abundant selawat upon Rasulullah ﷺ
Rasulullah ﷺ said:

“The person closest to me on the Day of Resurrection is the one who sent the most Selawat upon me.”
Sunan Al-Tirmidhi 484

2. Read Surah Al-Kahfi (first 10, last 10, or ideally the whole surah)
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, he will be illuminated with light between the two Fridays.”
Narrated by al-Haakim; graded Sahih by al-Albaani

3. Perform ghusl (Jumu‘ah bath) and maintain cleanliness
Abu Sa‘id Al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“The taking of a bath on Friday is compulsory for every Muslim who has attained puberty, and also cleaning of the teeth with siwak and using perfume if available.”
Sahih Bukhari

4. Wear fragrance and presentable clothing
Allah says:

“Put on your adornment on every occasion of prayer.”
Surah Al-A‘raf 7:31

5. Make du‘a to Allah abundantly
6. Trim nails and observe fitrah practices
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported:

“Five are from the fitrah: circumcision, removing hair below the navel, trimming the moustache, trimming the nails, and removing underarm hair.”

7. Increase du‘a between Asr and Maghrib
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“On this day there is a time when no Muslim stands and prays, asking Allah for something, but Allah will grant it to him.”
— Bukhari & Muslim

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said this special hour is:

“The last hour after Asr.”
— Abu Dawud & An-Nasa’i

Even if you can’t do everything, don’t leave everything. May Allah accept our deeds and ease our affairs. 🕊

‘asyura

a little sharing by ust. mizi wahid, on not only the benefit of fasting on the day of ‘asyura, but also, symbolising this deed as a fresh start, to a new hijri year.
