We should totally have a nerd house in Addis, no bureaucracy like local startups just curious mind trying to solve a world problem ( not only Ethiopians ).

Man, sometimes I feel like the Ethiopian startup scene is just stuck in this endless loop of pitching, raising money, and doing it all over again, without much of that engineering fun, you know? Itβs like the focus is more on playing the bureaucratic game to secure the next round of funding rather than building something truly innovative or technically exciting. Donβt get me wrong, there are companies with cool engineering behind them, like Gebeta Maps, Teraki, and a few others, that could totally scale and sell to markets outside Ethiopia. And yeah, building for the international market is 100% an option, especially since technology is democratizing resources like never before

As a starting step, we could organize a monthly session like Mella, where the focus is purely on technical stuff, appreciating the tech behind everything. We could ask @alxethiopiaofficial for a space and host it once a month on weekends, maybe for 2-3 hours in the evening. No fluff, just technical deep dives. The goal isnβt networking or a typical meetup, itβs about learning new tech, appreciating dev culture beyond the online world, and making meetups easy and accessible. No refreshments, no merch,No sponsors just keeping everything super simple. It could even be coding sessions or tech talks. AGAIN, NOT A MEETUP, IT'S A SUPER TECHNICAL EVENT. SIMPLE TO THE CORE. No preparation needed, just show up, attend, and head home afterward. and @codenight can make the new podcast comeback like this

Ugh, I really hate it when the font I want isnβt on Google Fonts. Then I have to manually download it and set it up all over again for my next project. So annoying!

Don't fool yourself, your project is not just one feature away. That one 'nice' feature that comes to mind is just a thread among millions, and chasing it will eventually lead you to abandon your project.

It's almost 5 AM (Tewat 11 Seat LT). Just finished work, took an insanely cold shower⦠exhausted and drained. Time to sleep.

Part one of the challenge is complete, we have macOS running on our Linux machine. Now, it's time to install Xcode and run the iOS simulator.

If I had to prove someone's existence, my first approach would be to find the person himself. Then, I would turn to other sources. I would do the same for God. It might sound crazy, but it could turn out to be the oppositeβor maybe not. Just give it a try. In case it works, how does that sound?
