Gen AI is getting kinda scary. Some of these image generators are so good that even people you think are smart can’t tell if they’re fake at first glance. And since most people already trust whatever they see on social media, this is just fueling misinformation, fake news, and disinformation. You can already see it on X with all the fake pictures going around about Charlie Kirk’s death and his suspect killer and both sides falling for it. If people are falling for edits that look sloppy or photoshopped, imagine what’ll happen when AI makes stuff that looks 100% real.
