In Praise of You

My life, my darling,
be still.
Lay your head down gently,
and sleep.

My darling,
you are the driving force of humanity.
Men and women alike
are all in search of you.
We all breathe through you
and for you.

My love,
I shall wipe away
the tears of joy upon your cheeks
with my own hands.

My darling,
be still.
It is over.

Was it for these few minutes,
or perhaps these fleeting seconds,
that you tore through
time and space at once?!

My darling,
my love,
be still.
It is over.

Come back to yourself,
retreat into your shell …

It is half past five in the morning.
Go to sleep!

Iran, too, will be free one day,
and you shall find
your new direction of prayer.

I am certain of it.
Do not worry …

My darling,
my life,
my love,
my entire existence …
