The Israeli cabinet secretly approved the establishment of 34 new Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) - a record number passed at once, and also during the campaign against Iran. The decision was kept highly classified to avoid American pressure.
Among the locations approved for establishment: areas located within arab enclaves in northern Samaria and remote points that even the Israeli army rarely reaches.
The IDF Chief of Staff who attended the meeting did not explicitly oppose, but expressed reservations due to manpower limitations and requested to phase the implementation of the decision to a number of settlements at a time. The army's position was not accepted and the decision passed.
Among the settlements: Noa and Emek Dotan to be built in enclaves within arab territory between Areas A and B. Noa - south of Ganim and Kadim near Qabatiya. Emek Dotan - will connect Sha-Nur, Homesh, and Shavei Shomron.
Within the decision, there is also a precedent-setting clause concerning the water and electricity infrastructure of the settlements: according to the secret appendix - energy infrastructure (electricity and water) will begin to be established even before land regulation.

Troops of the 162nd Division are continuing targeted ground operations in southern Lebanon. As part of the activity, troops from the 401st Brigade located a shaft leading to underground infrastructure from which a terrorist emerged and was eliminated in close-quarters combat. The troops entered the shaft and located a cache of weapons, including explosives, rockets, an RPG launcher, and grenades. In additional activity, they dismantled several Hezbollah staging positions in which additional weapons were located.
Troops of the 215th Fire Brigade struck and eliminated more than 70 terrorists, including a terrorist cell that had planned to carry out mortar fire toward our troops. In another incident, the troops identified two terrorists entering a structure used by Hezbollah and eliminated them in an airstrike. An Israeli citizen, Ami Gaidarov, 22, a resident of Haifa, was arrested in March for committing security offenses involving contact with Iranian intelligence agencies and aiding the enemy in wartime by carrying out security missions under their guidance.
During the investigation, it emerged that Gaidarov had been in contact with an Iranian agent since August 2025, during which he carried out numerous missions for large sums of money. Under his handler's instructions, Gaidarov agreed to manufacture explosives intended to harm former Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett.
To manage communication with his handlers, Gaidarov purchased dedicated phones and rented an apartment in Haifa where he manufactured the explosives while documenting his activities in videos and photos sent to his handler as proof of fulfilling the missions.
During Gaidarov's contact with the Iranian agent, he involved several friends and even enlisted their help in purchasing raw materials needed for making explosives. As a result, several other Israeli citizens from the north, including Sergey Libman and Edward Shovtyuk, were arrested for questioning. The investigation revealed that they assisted Geidrov in acquiring materials, hiding the explosives, and even conducting a test of the explosive's effectiveness, each according to their role.
It also emerged that during this war Gaidarov was instructed by his handler to provide the Iranians with photos of Haifa port, missile impact sites in the northern region, and was even asked to find a rental property with a view of the port area to install a fixed camera there.
