Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Gen. Rodolphe Haykal is currently on an official visit to the United States, including meetings this week at U.S. Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida, where he and senior U.S. military leaders discussed security cooperation, operational updates and Lebanon’s efforts to extend state authority and disarm non-state actors, mainky the Hezbollah terrorists.

Senator Graham, a close ally of President Donald Trump, said he abruptly cut short what he described as a “very brief meeting” with Haykal after asking whether the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) considered Hezbollah a terrorist organization. According to Graham, Haykal replied, “No, not in the context of Lebanon.”
Citing the US Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, carried out by Hezbollah’s predecessor, Graham pointed to the bipartisan US consensus designating the group as a terrorist organization:

IDF forces continue to operate to thwart terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria. As part of the activities, about 60 wanted criminals were arrested and six firearms, ten airsoft weapons, and dozens of additional means of combat were seized.
In the Menashe Brigade area, 15 wanted suspects were arrested, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists involved in manufacturing explosives. During the operation, M16 weapons, weapon parts, and military equipment were seized.
In the Etzion area, forces conducted over 100 offensive activities. During the operation, the forces destroyed the house of the terrorist who carried out the attack at the Gush junction, where Shalev Zevuloni was murdered, in the village of Halhul. Additionally, another M16 weapon was seized.
In the Binyamin and Ephraim areas, forces operated in focused operations in the village of Beit Liqya and in Qalqilya. During the operations, wanted terrorists were arrested and others interrogated, including arms dealers and Hamas terrorists.
In the Judea area, forces conducted battalion-level operations in Hebron and other villages in the area. During the activity, a pistol, ammunition, and funds intended to finance terrorist activities were seized.
