Al-Imām ibn al-Qayyim [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“Tūba is for he who is occupied with his own faults over the faults of people. Woe to him who forgets his own faults and rejoices at the faults of people. The first is a sign of happiness and the second is a sign of wretchedness.”

TN: Tūba - طوبى has several meanings. It is referred to Paradise and also in a Hadeeth it is referred to a tree in Paradise. Please refere to Silsilah as-Saheehah, 4/639. ‘Ikrimah said that Tūba means, “How excellent is what they earned,” while ad-Dahhak said, “A joy for them.” Furthermore, Ibraheem An-Nakh’ee said that Tūba means, "Better for them,'' while Qatadah said that it is an Arabic word that means, you have earned a good thing.' In another narration, Qatadah said that Tuba for them' means, "It is excellent for them,''

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“That which is more virtuous during the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, is to increase in worship, especially in Takbīr (saying Allāhu Akbar), Tahlīl (saying Lā Ilāha Illa Allāh), and Tahmīd (saying Alhamdu Lillāh), for that is superior than the Jihād which is not Fardh 'Ayn (obligatory upon every individual)."

A Series of Reminders About The Month of Dhū al-Ḥijjah - No.3

Heedlessness About The Virtue Of The First Ten Days Of Dhū al-Ḥijjah

Sh. Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn Raḥimahullāh said: "Righteous actions, including fasting, in the (first) ten days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah are more beloved to Allāh than righteous actions in the last ten days of Ramaḍān.

Yet the people are heedless of the ten days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah. They pass and the people are upon their normals ways. You find no increase in reading the Qur'ān or other types of worship, rather some of them are even stingy with the takbīr."

‎"Friday is the day of worship, its comparison to other days like the comparison of the month of Ramadan to other months and the hour in it is like the Night of Decree in Ramadan."
