In 2005, researcher Semir Osmanagic began digging near Visoko, uncovering what were previously thought to be three mountains, now recognized as Europe's oldest pyramids. The so-called "mountains" are constructed from concrete blocks, with pathways laid out in stone.

Similarly, in 2009, dinosaur bones were unearthed on the New Mexico-Colorado border, found in two separate layers from the Paleogene period, estimated to be 64.5 million years old. This suggests that some dinosaurs may have thrived for another half-million years, seemingly unaffected by the mass extinction event.
