I am a South African living abroad. My family is in Johannesburg….it is civil war. Police have run out of ammo and are calling in civilians for help…anyone with arms. There are too many rioters for the police. The president sent in 2500 military personnel (who don’t know what to do). Right now in South Africa it is spreading … worst area is KwaZulu Natal… for the first lock down he sent in 3 times that…his public address spelled out the plan..create food shortages, stop access to medical support (nurses can’t travel to their places of work because of fear of rioters), and incapacitate the police force. It is a war zone and there is no help coming. Pray 😢

The impact of the House move is unclear since the Texas law enforcement lacks jurisdiction in the nation’s capital.

I am from Hong Kong. quite surprised that many recent post linked up Kong Kong to the current Cuba protests. it recalled many memories during the anti-China Extradition law protests here in 2019-2020. There are many reasons hk ppl flying 🇺🇸, but definitely the symbol of “FREEDOM” and “HOPE” are the top reasons. In Hong Kong, because the media is suppressed under the national security law, news (especially intl-news) out here is rather limited or selected. Due to population density and living style, many information need to be modified when applying in hk, still lucky enough tht I am able to learn and prepare for myself and my family. Thanks for all the information here and throughout telegram, I have learned a lot from yours. Hopefully when crisis comes, I will have more rooms to provide help from what I have came through. I am not sure if the following idea is useful: 1）when resources are limited,women's sanitary pads can be used as temporary first aid to stop bleeding. 2）depends on situations, may consider to develop some common communication signs within family or community: for example, signals or hand gestures to pass / send info such as in a noisy environment, too many people, too far away, cannot make sound, etc. to save one’s energy.
