Where To Go For Help

“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.”  Ps 25:1

When you need help, turn to Psalms chapter 25 and note what David did. (1) He knew where to go.“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.” Recently a reader called us to ask for prayer for a family member who had just been diagnosed with stage four cancer. How quickly our lives can change! Where can we turn in such moments? To God. He’s known by many names in Scripture, and one of them is Jehovah-Rapha—the Lord who heals you (See Ex 15:26). How wonderful! His Word says, “He heals your diseases—every one” (Ps 103:3 TM). With God no sickness is incurable, which means you can go to Him today with confidence. (2) He knew Who to trust.“O my God, I trust in thee” (Ps 25:2). A man or woman without God has to fill the role of God in his or her own life. That may be okay in good times, but what about malignant cells, faulty heartbeats, layoffs at work, home foreclosures, and phone calls that bring bad news in the wee hours of the morning? To whom do you turn then? “Unto thee, O Lord!” (3) He knew how to pray: “Show me, teach me, lead me.”“Show me thy ways…teach me thy paths…Lead me in thy truth…for thou art the God of my salvation” (vv. 4-5). Theologian Richard Foster says, “To pray is to change. It’s the central avenue God uses to transform us. If we’re not willing to change we will soon abandon prayer.” So have you prayed about it? If not, get into God’s presence right away. That’s where you’ll find the help you need.
Is Your Name In The Book?

“Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter.” Rev 21:27 NCV

One night in 1912, Titanic, the largest passenger steamship in the world and considered by many to be unsinkable, struck an iceberg and sank in the icy Atlantic. Many people died. Following the disaster the scene outside the White Star Line office in Liverpool was one of anxiety and grief as friends and relatives of those on board the ill-fated vessel thronged the building. On both sides of the main entrance notices were posted. One said, “KNOWN TO BE SAVED”; the other said, “KNOWN TO BE LOST.” From time to time a company official walked out with a piece of paper which contained the name of another passenger. When he held it up, a deathly stillness swept over the crowd as loved ones of the missing waited to see which side he would write the name on. The day Jesus was crucified, God looked down from heaven, wrote “KNOWN TO BE SAVED” on the cross, and started writing names in “The Lamb’s Book of Life.” And the message of the cross hasn’t changed. You don’t have to be a scholar to understand it. In fact, most people who come to Christ don’t know a lot about the Bible. All they know is they need a Savior, and God loves them. All you have to do to receive eternal life is repent of your sin and put your trust in Jesus. The instant you do that, God writes your name “in the Lamb’s book of life” and you become a member of His family, guaranteed a place in heaven. And it can happen for you today.
Called for purity
PAUL, AN apostle (special messenger) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), by the divine will (the purpose and the choice of God) to the saints (the consecrated, set-apart ones) [a]at Ephesus who are also faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus
did you know that we are called for purity here we see paul writing to the people in ephesus.
lets see how ephesus looked at the time of paul,
This city was know as the gate way for asia which means people used to go there and relax having a good time we could say it was a popular place to have a vacation the city contain three gates that lead to the harbour
and also this city was a house for the goddess diana or artemis we know that paul was accused of defiling this goddess the temple that they built for this goddes was so large that its roof was supported by 100 columns with a hight of 60 feet.
they considered her to be a godds of fertility the temple is record in unisco.
there were also a market place called agora its also belived that paul might have worked here in the market place by saling tent with aquila and preskela
as we have seen above the city was filled with a lot of idoleters, peolpe who are busy cashing there own goal as long as it was the gate way there comes many peolpe bringing with them there own idoles and way of life.
it is for this people that paul writis saying for the set appart ones, peolpe who are called by God for purity
in our generation too we see a mix of different thinking, way of lifes we are in a war zone every day figthing withe flesh everymorning we get up we wake up to face another challege for the spirt is aginst the flesh and also the flesh against the spirit its a reveled truth that we are in a generation that is filled with a big ego called "I"every body want to do there own desire and hunger to fullfill the lust of there flesh but no one is looking to fulfill the will of the spirit so let us all be reminded of the battels everyday and be ready to put first his will and also despite the situation around as we are called to live a holy life.
