What’s noteworthy about the ByteDance–Samsung Foundry rumor is that ByteDance is reportedly looking to use Samsung’s foundry services as a way to secure memory supply from Samsung.
Yes, Samsung is leveraging the current severe memory supply shortage to win more foundry orders.
If I may toot my own horn, I covered this before anyone else, back on January 1st.

‘A significant portion of Kioxia’s contracts are structured with annual volume agreements and quarterly price negotiations. Long-term volume agreements for 2026 appear to be largely finalized. Some data center and enterprise customers have proposed long-term contracts extending through 2027–28, along with advance payments, and the company is actively reviewing these proposals.’
