Fascinating. Progress being a direct function of simply reading books. Bodes well for East and South Asia.

3rd today including the Co-founder. I already know what’s happening here.
Brilliant, but idealistic, ppl think they see the bigger picture better than the guy who painted the picture.
The words “Don’t bet against Elon” have killed more ppl than Genghis Khan.
May GOD have mercy on your soul.

>> SMIC: HBM Supply Shortage Expected to Persist for Years… Bottleneck Shifting to Back-End Processes
∙ SMIC CEO Zhao Haijun stated during an earnings call that AI computing demand will remain in a state of “persistent shortage for a considerable period.”
∙ He explained, “Computing power is insufficient across the entire industry right now. Expectations for AI are so high that companies are trying to build out a decade’s worth of data centers within just one to two years, yet the actual use cases have not been fully established.”
∙ In this environment, the industry continues to ramp up investment in memory technology, and HBM supply shortages are likely to persist for the next several years.
∙ However, he noted that the key bottleneck constraining HBM production capacity going forward will shift from front-end processes (wafer fabrication) to back-end processes such as testing. In other words, back-end capabilities—including packaging and inspection—will become the critical variable determining the pace of HBM capacity expansion.
