Anthropic spent millions on Super Bowl ads showing ChatGPT stuffing ads into conversations.
Sam Altman fired back fast.
"We are not stupid. We respect our users. If we did what those ads show, people would rightfully stop using the product."
OpenAI won't put ads in the LLM stream. Altman called it "crazy dystopic, bad sci-fi movie stuff."
Then Jordi Hays asked Claude to define "playing dirty."
Claude answered: misleading others about intentions, hiding information, creating false impressions.
"I thought it was a little dirty," Altman said. "Well played"
The twist? Anthropic's own policy says "we may later revise this decision" about ads. They left themselves an out.
Altman admitted the ads nailed ChatGPT's annoying personality. "That part was funny. We'll fix that soon."
