Citizens has identified Flutter Entertainment as one of its top picks in the online gaming sector for 2026, despite ongoing volatility in the industry.
In a research note released Monday, Citizens highlighted that gaming stocks are currently trading at depressed valuations, with an average of 11.5x FY2 consensus EV/EBITDA, below both one-year (12.5x) and three-year (14.6x) averages.
The firm believes risk premiums currently baked into gaming stocks are "overpenalizing the trajectory of the online gaming industry," creating investment opportunities in companies with "burgeoning cash flow."
Citizens analyst Jordan Bender acknowledged that the sector has faced volatility over the past two years due to regulation, competition, and game outcomes, but sees potential upside from companies meeting or beating quarterly estimates.
Besides Flutter Entertainment, Citizens also named Genius Sports (GENI), DraftKings (DKNG), and Super Group (SGHC) as its top online gaming picks for 2026.
