Moderna has received U.S. approval for mNEXSPIKE, its next-gen COVID-19 vaccine. It’s cleared for adults 65+ and at-risk individuals aged 12–64. This is Moderna’s third approved product, designed with a more targeted, lower-dose approach than earlier versions. COVID-19 caused over 47,000 U.S. deaths in 2024, and mNEXSPIKE aims to cut that burden with improved protection.

$VSCO POSTPONES Q1 EARNINGS AFTER CYBER INCIDENT

$DLO NEARS $150M DEAL FOR AFRICA’S AZA FINANCE
DLocal is close to acquiring African payments firm AZA Finance for around $150M, in what would be its largest deal since 2021 and first outside Latin America. The move expands DLocal’s reach beyond its core LATAM markets, as it looks to deploy strong cash flow following better-than-expected Q1 results. AZA, founded in Nairobi, enables cross-border transactions in African currencies.

Agenus is selling its biologics manufacturing sites in Emeryville and Berkeley, CA to Zydus Lifesciences for $75M upfront, plus up to $50M in milestone payments. Zydus gains a U.S. base for its new CDMO business and will exclusively manufacture Agenus’ Phase 3-ready cancer drugs Botensilimab and Balstilimab. The deal gives Zydus a foothold in the growing global biologics market.
